2-2 draw for me.

Gutted missing this. I like an away day there.

Folk always looking for the negatives. People get too worked up about celtic and rangers. I think its a good thing and as smeds says it gives us a chance to blood youngsters if we're comfortable in any games. Gotta be a good thing.

No sympathy for Hearts or Thistle. Fuck them. Brought it all on themselves.

Give it up eh

I put nothing by that club.

They've obviously shown zero regard for the well being of the Utd players. So it's not a great leap.

I'm not saying they actively wanted Utd players to get the virus but they have obviously shown zero care that they possibly could.

It will be interesting to see what commercial impact the strips have after the success of last years.

The home top (to me) is bog standard united - had I asked my niece to draw a united kit - thats what she would have drawn.

The away is still a guess but purple is going to be a hard sell (if that is to be believed) and if its the pattern on the hoodie then it will be the marmite of football straps...either loved of hated.

Either way its starting to get about wearing how ill prepared we are for the season. 9 days to go and we have not started selling our home shirts and the away shirt is seemingly forgotten about. It may sound petty but in these hard times, id imagine selling a few thousand shirts at 50 quid a pop would help matters.

Even the release was a massive dissapointment. Leaked on sky and a half arsed press release from us.

I guess folk are still furloughed but I wonder if ifs all going south since we punted big malky and didn't replace him...is David Southern available?

Both dundee strips are on sale. Same manufacturer as us.

Concessions dont get one so its not that.

Don't think that's fair as if you are a student , OAP, U16 or U18 you should be entitled to one if you were an existing season ticket holder. New season ticket holders have New ST on the card so that should stop anyone buying a concession ticket just to Stream the games.

Bizarrely its against the law for an u16 to get a link to the games I believe.

I'm on about the streaming TV service. Most clubs have it sorted.  As per usual our communications are dire.

Shops are open. Shopping centres are now open. you can have a pint in a pub. You can sit on an aeroplane and go to Italy on holiday but you cant have fans in a stadium. Tannadice has a capacity of 14000. nearly 5500 season ticket holders. I'm sure we could accommodate all season ticket holders easily in the 5 stands. 3 of them with extra tiers.

Incidentally, weans. What a horrible word.

If we even sign a good CH before St.Johnstone i'll feel a bit more relaxed about our prospects.👍

I definitely think a CH and a Winger would make everyone feel a lot more comfortable about our season starting. I expect the transfer window to be open for quite a while this season.

October I've read. Not sure if that's a fact though.

I'd say most Italian clothing and sportswear manufacturers will have some links to organised crime in them.

What's your authority? Or is it just based on what you think happens in Italian business.

I'm really not trying to pick a fight. I live and work I in Piedmont and I have never encountered any Mafia influence. When the autostrada bridge collapsed in Genoa 2 years past all my Scottish in-laws jumped to the conclusion it was a Mafia contract. The reality they were all applying a stereotype. I think there is hardly any Mafia influence north of Rome.

I'm sure someone will google it now.

A good friend of mine lives in Liguria. Just outside Albenga. Sampdoria fan. he's my authority. There are more organised crime gangs in Italy than just the mafia. Juventus main ultras group are controlled by crime lords. Massive racket on tickets that the club backed until recently,  Also have their fingers in many other pies. Drughi are now banned from the stadium.

Beautiful wine from Piedmont. Gavi especially

We do not have a big squad.

Currently have a 1st team squad of 18 players.

But 3 of them are boys with just minutes under their belts or none at all (Glass, Mochrie, Freeman). And that's also including both our Goalies.

We can barely make up a starting XI and bench even allowing for a FULLY fit squad.

Madness not to make 3 or 4 signings in the next month.

Actually there's 21 in our 1st team squad, well there's 20 on the Fishul which doesn't include Mochrie. Then I'm sure there are another 3 or 4 more Freeman/Glass/Mochrie types away to graduate. I think it's important to give kids a chance. There are some diamonds in there & you need your Appere types to get a chance.

Yeah we're 4 years out of the top flight & we're going to get some sort of culture shock regardless of how many squad players we have but I would not be setting my sights on Europe. More realistically I'd bite your hand off for 6th but being outside that, 7th, 8th or 9th, would be first season back success for me. The season after - top 6.

As for reconstruction, Budge - as is her wont - failed.  She couldn't convince even a quarter of teams to go for it.  Insisting it should be permanent when nobody wanted it.

Her job was to pull together the support for reconstruction but she made an arse of it as she has done with everything else since she's come into Scottish football. She came in with an almighty PR inspired bang, talking about how she was going to freshen everything up.  In reality, everything that she's touched has turned to shite.

Aye, Budge comes across as a high handed, presumptuous woman, who was given a major position to convince folk of her plans: was it not that she wanted a temporary change though, to reconstruction? Not that it matters, as the clubs rejected it.

For any United supporters thinking there's any chance of us being relegated without playing a match and Hearts taking over our fixtures, in just under 25% of the possible fixtures both ourselves and Hibs are scheduled to be at home, thus Hearts cannae be slotted in for us. The whole fixture card would have to be redone.

You do realise they could move hearts fixtures where they clash to a Friday evening or a Sunday. Also some of the fixtures possibly won't have a crowd in so easy enough to play at both stadiums on the same day.

Not gonna happen anyway but just letting you ken fixtures wouldn't be an issue.

No? You said you fear for us. I was just wondering specifically where this fear came from?

Let's just say the jury is out for me on Asghar and as he seems to be the only show in town now, I fear for us.  His handling of our manager recruitment does nothing to re-assure me.  For example, trying to sign Messi might look good for the papers, but it isn't going to happen and therefore it isn't a case of too much ambition...

I don't get Asghar either, I have been very cautious regarding the approach our new owners have taken from the start. I rang alarm bells about MB last season and now he is away.  Despite being called a Dee from a few - I'm still ringing alarm bells about our finances - it's unsustainable, it's just basic maths. Ogren publicly stated he wants to make profit from our club, that simply will not happen. Unless there is a massive new TV deal and/or we can have a bigger stadium with more fans then it won't happen. If it was that easy in Scotland, many more clubs would start making profits and many more rich men would be involved.  We are already over £5m in debt (to Ogren), 133% wage to turnover, we are spending money for project brave for an army of staff that delivers what? More and more clubs are pulling out of project brave, it's a Malky project, same as the guy before him MW project.

When Ogren realises he won't get profit, then what? I'm grateful, as our club was on its knees with ST & MM but I would prefer a sensible plan.

I don't expect everyone to agree with my post. I still think we will end up with a Jon Daly/Barry Robson type manager.

You do realise the full story of the 133% do you?

I agree with the MSPs at the time he got the Scottish Development gig that he shouldn't of been given that position. Therefore I have drafted an email that will be sent to the club & SLO & to express my feelings and asking them what refund policies are in place which will be sent if he is appointed.

As stated, if Asgar appoints him and it goes badly wrong then Asgar will need to be shown the door. We are a community/family club - this is not what we need.

I respect those who disagree with my moral stance.

I dinnae think theres anything in the terms and conditions saying you can get a refund because you dont like any potential manager.
