Fan Displays Thread 19/20

Bowers (and Co), just a wee idea.

See on Friday 30th August when the Utd team comes out to face Dundee, why not have a 'Scarf Display'.

When Utd emerge instead of clapping the side on we all hold our scarves aloft from the Shed, Dode and East Stand and sing 'Glory, Glory Dundee United' and/or 'It's United, It's My Home Team'?

I think it would look brilliant and really inspire the team.

P.s. for those who might chip in with 'take a scarf in the Summer?' or 'I never take a scarf'.

Aye, just for one night if you could 🖒

p.s. only if the Display team like the idea, of course.

Re: Fan Displays Thread 19/20

As always we are open to idea's for games and things that can be done.

The team already have something planned for the derby at the end of August but i shall pass on your idea.

As always if anyone on the forum would like to throw any idea's into the mix just send me a message.

Re: Fan Displays Thread 19/20

Loads of shiny foil flags, simple but effective.

Ask for them back to be re-used. Don’t know how do-able that is

Re: Fan Displays Thread 19/20

Even in the height of summer I take a scarf. For some reason I decided not to bother on Tuesday night. Will sacrifice my body temperature for the good of the team from now on.

Did Aberdeen no do this in the game we beat them (Robbie Muirhead scored).

If I remember correctly our fans slaughtered them and said it looked a bit shit.

Might look better in tangerine, however.

Yeh Aberdeen used them at Tannadice. They have used them a few times at home and at Hampden.

We have used similar but not the shiny ones at Dumbarton and at home against ICT earlier this year.

Re: Fan Displays Thread 19/20

A bit if insight into Friday nights display.
Earlier this year we had discussed installing a pully system in the East stand for displays. After talking to the club it was given the go ahead and we bought it in the summer but they didnt have time to install it whilst the scaffolding was up sadly. The club then said they could install it in the shed for us so we went for that.
Friday was the first time for us using it and we only tried it out Friday afternoon for the first time and it went aaot better than expected.  The displays all went up earlier than we had initially planned on the night but they worked well.

The banner in the East stand was hand drawn then painted and a handful of people spent many late nights to and then all day Monday and Xmas eve to make sure it was ready in time. An incredible amount of hours spent on it.

Here is a few pics from Friday

Re: Fan Displays Thread 19/20

If anyone could spare anything to go towards future displays it would be much appreciated. We have a couple in mind that we would like to do especially before this seasons out.

Re: Fan Displays Thread 19/20

On Saturday evening at the Scottish cup anniversary dinner we were presented with a cheque for £1000 which took us past our target. On behalf of everyone involved in the displays i would like to thank  the DUSF for the donation and getting the target over the line and also everyone who has donated to the page over the past few weeks it is appreciated. We will leave the page open for a couple of more weeks and then look forward to planning something special for the end of the season and other games in between.

Re: Fan Displays Thread 19/20

When is the McLean statue getting unveiled?
It would be great to have a special display in honour of JYM on this day.
