The penultimate Match of Round 1 saw a low scoring game won by former midfield maestro BILLY McKINLAY.He will progress through to the 2nd Round as a seed now and joining him in the next Round (albeit unseeded) will be ex-Polish Internationalist GRZEGORZ SZAMOLTULSKI who finished as runner-up a vote behind Badger.Eliminated from 'Utd Cult Hero II' are former forwards Jason Scotland and Derek Lilley who only amassed a single vote between them.Nonetheless we wish both well.

Victor. Something almost mythical about him these days looking back.

Wee Hunty, would have loved him back this season.

Guido.
Very prone to a blunder from time to time but also a hell of a shot stopper.
The save in the 94 cup final v Mikhailichenko, almost point blank and somehow managed to palm it over the bar.
And his blunder in the semi final that year as well v Aberdeen where the shot squirmed under his body and went in, then a carbon copy of that happened in the Final again, but this time the shot went under his body but he managed to recover and save it before it went over the line.
And the original great goalkeeping Dutch 'tache!

Some amount of goals Daly scored. Signed for Sevco though. Hell mend him Guido for me

Fucking hell. This is a tough one. Victor was something else, but Hunty really done the biz for us and was a real personality too. Hunty.

Agree with Hammy, there is something almost 'mythical' about Victor looking back. You would almost of half expected to have seen a storyline in The Beano at the time about a maverick Argentine internationalist striker signing for Dundee Utd,so far fetched did it seem.
An incredible talent but he was a bit like Nadir Ciftci in that he was never really a team player, more an individual who never seemed that interested in slipping out of 1st gear unless you got him angry. He also of course spat on an opponent not once but twice and left wee Jim with no choice but to punt him sadly (though as disgusting an act as spitting is if your gonna spit on anybody Jim Duffy+Andy Goram are 2 fine choices to be the recipient).
Guido was a member of the team that brought home the 'Holy Grail' and for that should never ever have to pay for a pint if he returns to Dundee at any point for a visit. He was also a great shot-stopper on his day and was excellent during the cup run (the aforementioned Aberdeen mistake apart).
Big Daly despite scoring a lot of goals i never quite took to.Think it's as simple as i just never quite rated him.Though as a member of one of my favourite ever Utd sides in 2009/2010 i will of course always remember him with some fondness and i have no real biterness left that he went to Ibrox. He wanted a bit of financial security for his family. That is his perogative and he served us very well for 7 years at both Centre forward and Centre Half when required to do so.
My vote goes to Noel Hunt. Was pretty underwhelmed when Brewster signed him as he was hardly prolific at Dunfermline, but what a signing he proved to be.A real wee livewire who never gave defenders a minutes peace.I tell ya what the Hunty of 2006-2008 would score a fucking barrowload in the current team.He had a genuine burst of pace, had a great leap for a wee guy, fought for every ball fiercely, never gave up on a ball (must have scored at least 2 goals just chasing down the keeper and forcing him into a panicky clearance against him),hated Rangers, loved Utd and the fans and had a great goal scoring celebration wi the somersault.
Proper fitbawers name tae.Loved the wee man
Was robbed of a very deserved medal at Utd cos of that cunt Kenny Clark.

He was at his prime when he played for United, just a pity wee Jum decided it was un sportsman like to cross yourself at Greyskull and gob on the flying pig, as much as we shouldn't condone such acts of ignorance it was also known of the great manager himself to let fly when backed in a corner, John Barnes can vouch for that.

Should've been Daly, but it's Hunty based on subsequent moves.

Yeah he chased a ball down, goram collected it and victor ran past... Goram waited till victor had ran bye him before he launched it up the park...then as he past Goram he turned and gobbed right in his puss...right in front of the away support... Nae shite the place went tits and Goram ran to the half way line complaining lol
wee jim then took him off shortly after and he blessed himself in front of the main stand...you could say it didn't go down well lol

Big Dalys a legend mate and a future hall of famer, let's face it he's at the Huns for a payday, cos his knees are fucked, good luck to him. Don't think many will see him as a cult hero tho.

Daly wouldn't stand a chance in a 'Utd Legends Cup' though. So i thought it would be more prudent to have him in this instead.
