Tunnocks wafer cup

As if the challenge cup wasn't a minter before it certainly is now with the new sponsor name.

Anyway for anybody interested we have been drawn at home against Arbroath. Game will be 7th September.

Re: Tunnocks wafer cup

Good opportunity for the supporters to see the best young players at the club show what they can do against men in a competitive game at Tannadice. Something they never get to do

Re: Tunnocks wafer cup

Should only charge the supporters no more than £5 to get into these games.

Re: Tunnocks wafer cup

Young lads and fringe players only, our sole focus should be the league.

Charged a fiver and got 1706. Bit picky Pat. Only 106 out.
That was crowd given on Falkirks twitter last night.

Official crowd was 1076. It's on the official SPFL website.

That's the other home countries' teams in: I wonder at which point the Irish will chuck it in without playing their matches? The competition is a farce, run by an arse.

I'll go with what the club say. They said it twice on twitter even correcting someone who said it was 1076. 😉

Agree it's a farce tho.

Re: Tunnocks wafer cup

Instead of belittling the competition why not shut the fuck up & choose to go shopping instead.
Tunnocks are a very successful Scottish company who choose to put money into Scottish football.
There is very little money coming into Scottish football.
There are thousands of other things Tunnocks could be putting money into.
As per Barrs last season.
If it doesn't appeal to you & you consider it a 'farce' then just give it a miss & get your arse down to the Overgate.
It's a vital weekend for the national team too with home games on the Friday & the Monday so the Saturday game fills the gap.
I'll be at Tannadice on September 7 & in the meantime will definitely buy more Tunnocks product by way of reciprocation.
And no doubt it'll be a pound to get in & we'll play our Under 14s.

A wee bit aggressive there for you smedDUm.

I'll go through your comments in turn, ignoring the stfu.

Tunnocks do not see themselves as a 'Scottish' company, they rebranded themselves as 'British' in 2017, removing the lion rampant from their products and replacing them with a union flag.

Very little money coming into Scottish football is down to the leaders of the game, in the case of the Challenge Cup, which used to be an attractive competition for lower league clubs, Mr Doncaster. Generally, the Scottish game receives much less money from outside sources than the vast majority of comparable, and even lower rated nations throughout Europe.

Below are some figures from 2018, source linked.

I will, of course, be giving the competition a miss, but will hardly travel to the Overgate on your advice, given the distance involved. If you wish to go along, for whatever reasons, then feel free: in my view you are aiding and abetting Doncaster and his cronies making a mockery of not only a once appealing cup competition, but Scottish football as a whole.

And you are helping a virus take control of football north of the border, when supporters should be united in removing it.

Re: Tunnocks wafer cup

It would be really nice if we got a good turnout for this match. Neilson saying there will be one or two changes but nothing wholesale.

Re: Tunnocks wafer cup

Could have done with a Challenge Cup tie this weekend.
Otherwise 15 days between Alloa & QotS.
An opportunity to see Banks, Chalmers, the Smith Bros & maybe even Meekison, Graham & Neilson.
I see our victors got Clyde. Goodie at Gayfield.
Had a Tunnocks Caramel Wafer y'day, courtesy of a hotel room.
They're actually quite good.
