Sat at Murrayfield yesterday and watched some unbeliavable passing out from the back particulary from Napoli. The group i was with all GF regulars all agreed that that sort of football would be met with boos and FFS get it forward shouts if tried at Tannadice

The atmosphere at tannadice is shocking, to many people too quick to jump on players backs, I understand the frustration at games and the slow build up at times but sitting at tannadice is infuriating sometimes it’s like some fans just go to shout abuse at the players, it’s been like this since the relegation, I’ll probs get stick for this as “fans” pay good money and have right to voice there opinions but if these fans think booing every 5 minutes will help us get up, there so so wrong
If only we could have our away support at every home game, the contrast is unbelievable
This was what I was alluding to when I mentioned the toxic atmosphere.

I'd reckon the support of every club is generally more enthusiastic when it travels to away matches.

If so, below article is interesting. High % of chances created per 90 mins

Happy to give Frear a chance however having a quick read of the Motherwell forum the signing doesn't fill me with confidence.
Their fans dont seem sad to see him go and saying that tracking back and helping the left back aren't his strong points. Not what we need with either Sporle (from what we have seen so far) or Robson behind him!
Yes the chances created stats look great but then again if you looked at Fraser Airds stats last season you would have him down as a player as well!
If he does sign he will get my full backing, just a bit of scepticism which is to be expecting thinking back over some of our recent signings.

Frear apparently does quite well in these stats at first glance (didn’t have time to read article properly but will later), so begs the question as to why he is available on a free.
Anybody any information on him?

This tends to answer my question. I would also be worried if he doesn’t track back as left back looks once again our most vurnable position.

We'll make our own minds up on him. Dunfermline were gutted that Aird left them - shite for us.

To return to a theme - why should this be so?

Honestly don't recall Pars fans being upset at Aird leaving: in my recall they accused him of playing for a new contract, and only turning it on in games towards the end of the season.
Remember at Robbie's first Q & A in the Heggy, who was his blue-eyed boy in attendance, the only player as I recall. They don't seem to be so matey now? Rifts do occur I guess in any walk of life.

Surely 'blue-nose boy'?
He may not have been there as Robbie's favourite, smedDUm, could have been other reasons for taking him along, I'll bet.

Ah maybe it was that. I know they offered him a contract and the papers had him set to resign for them.
The truth is the boy's no a bad player but he's been sod-all use to us.
WHY??

Based on the assumption that he only played well for Dunfermline when he was coming to the end of his contract, I get the impression that he is the kind of player who only puts effort in when he has to and if he has just signed a new contract and has 2 or 3 years security he will simply go through the motions because he is protected for the duration of his contract.

Asked a couple of 'Well fans i know about Frear.

I'd like to think there's not many professional footballers with that attitude.
These days they should be bursting a gut in search of the riches that are available.
But then for every Andy Robertson there's a thousand that don't make it to £200/wk.
