Trump only ran for President to raise his profile and became US leader almost by mistake.

Johnson has been angling for the position of PM for nearly ten years. 

He can't unite the Tory Party far less the UK, and it's incongruous to me that voters will be taken in by his bluster and at times downright lies.

Johnson has become PM to gather in the riches which can come his way after he departs the position in a Blairish manner. And I think he may be out of that job in a matter of months rather than years, which will suit him just fine.
