Currently abroad and trying to pick up the cowdenbeath match - they don't make it easy, do they. Firstly I kept going round in circles until eventually I found a link to the match - then I couldn't set up payment as the shared wifi at the hotel is deemed unsafe.
Its holiday season - I cant be the only one wanting to sit back and watch the game from abroad. How many people have not been able to access it?
That's if the stream works in the first place

Was an issue of sorting payment. Options were paypal which the site was blocking or phone up with a credit card - not ideal if you are outside the uk

No, it's not. The whole zone concept needs looked at and started afresh imo.

I'd agree with that. It's the first time I've looked at arabzone since I gave mine up circa armstrong/gms leaving... difficult to navigate. Difficult to pay for 1 offs. Content questionable.
I know they re looking for somebody to work on the content - so hopefully it will all fall into line

Ive bought individual games on Arabzone aload of times and can't say ive found an issue in doing so that i remember. Always been easy to pay and get the password for watching the game.
The quality etc is usually the issue.

Anyone else watching online via Arabzone tonight?
The boy Dave (co-commentator) is painful to listen to. He just talks pish. Nothing more than a fan. Can tell he’s never kicked a ball in his life.
Scott Simpson is actually alright.

Been very disappointed with the media content from Utd this summer. Decent reveal for Shankland but apart from that its been very poor.
Utd fans crave any Club related content but its been seriously lacking. Training footage very sparse. No highlights of a couple of the friendlies. Barely any interviews with the players apart from signing interviews and match previews (that were mainstream media interviews so hardly exclusive content).
Look at some other clubs and they are miles ahead. Hearts had a camera at the Hampden event today (Reynolds was there) but we had nothing.

Couldn't agree more, as a season ticket holder who works away quite often, it really is well below what you would expect from our club.
Has the media team any experience or training in media & communication? or has it been picked up on the run, I would suggest the latter, and left to get on with it, as it has been the cheap option.
I can't see any other reason that this amateur output has been left with the same people churning out the same shite, granted the Shankland piece was very good, but has anyone watched the Andy Goldie interview? that there should be a sackable offence, the same questions being asked over and over again, dead air time with all the pregnant pauses while the interviewer tries to engage his brain. Also what about the camera work, holy fuck, one minute the boys looking like he been tangoed and the next he's had the biggest fleg of his life, and doesn't look long for this world, was it filmed on a knock off phone?
I think what I'm trying to get at is, are there no checks on these things?
This was teased out as a three parter as if "wait and see this boys" but someone has given this pitiful offering the green light, does nobody in the new regime look at what they churn out?
It isn't as this is a new occurrence, this has been the way it's been for years without any signs of progress, this area in my opinion needs raised to the ground with new people put in place, who actually have knowledge and know-how in this field.
The funny thing is, I heard the boy who has been responsible for this from day one, is the one interviewing people for the new job, now if that's no' a conflict of interests I don't know what is, he's no' gonna hire somebody that can make him and his cronies look like the (paid) .amateurs they are.

Dont subscribe to it and have no intention to.

Tried to watch some of the new stuff that has went on. Anything over 20 seconds just buffers non-stop rendering it unwatchable. Its annoying as fuck.

Then again, it might just be my tablet and phone. It's even worse when you try to cast it to the tv. Anyone with any ideas for how to improve it would be welcome.

You got decent broadband?

Plusnet. Think its to do with my Chromecast because Utd don't have it optimised so you have to do screen mirroring which can lag. All broadband is shite in my area because the BT Openreach lines are terrible and there is no bandwidth so it doesn't really matter what provider you are with.
BTW, the Jim McLean birthday video is great and actually worked without any problems.

I've watched the free stuff on my samsung smart TV and it works fine on that.
What you say about chromecast rings a bell. I remember there was an issue previously with watching it on smartphones. Some software they used wasnt compatible or something.

Happy to be corrected if wrong, but I think Chromecast has a quality setting which defaults to High. If you just set it to normal, that stops the lag.

Anyone else suffer the new commentary team on Arabzone yesterday?
Totally honking. I love my team and am paying for an overseas subscription service from the club so can suffer a bit of overly biased commentary. That pair yesterday were just slavering nonsense though. Not a clue about football.
Always though Scott Simpson was a good main commentator. Hoping he just has a week off.
How hard would it be for the club to ask one of the Academy coaches who’re not involved in the match day to take a turn, even as the co commentator. Actually give some proper observations on what’s going on.
Such a shame as the new regime have moved forward soooo many other aspects of the club.

I use the zone quite alot when i am offshore and fortunately haven't seen a home game for a good few weeks. I have turned the volume off many times as they 2 that usually do it are a fucking shambles.

Arabzone remains the only bit of the club which has not improved since the Ogren's have taken over. It is strange given that they surely rely on it when they are over in the USA to see games and snippets of what is going on in the club. The commentary remains poor and the lack of a dedicated chromecast option for live games and videos remains a bizarre omission in 2019.

I would also add it would have been good for them to have done interviews with the ex-players who have appeared at Tannadice recently like Andy Webster, Ray Stewart and Johnny Russell. It seems a bit of a wasted opportunity especially Johnny.

Another shitshow from arabzone, working away so tried to tune in to live commentary, first 10 minutes NADA, missed the goal, the rest sporadic service, I hope the Ogrens are as pissed off as I am with this tinpot/amateur service, the club has come a long way since the new team has taken over, but maybe this is an area that has went backwards rather than forwards, hopefully the Ogrens can can see what people who can't make the match for whatever reason have had to put up with year after year, I hope some of the hierarchy look in and can have a wee look at this, fans that can't make every game through work or living logistically too far away are being frequently let down by this substandard service, the people running this media service seem to think because we are all United fans we should just grin and bear it, what they don't seem to realise is a lot of fans work it. (sometimes losing money) so they have this time free only to find frustratingly the watch live/listen live is inadequate to say the least.
As commented before I think the boy Simpson is very good, but is frequently let down by his co-commentators, I get really fucked offl listening to people who couldn't kick an arse and in one case that bad he became a referee, analysing and pontificating about the game. Surely the boy Simpson and an injured player/ex player/backroom staff member would be far superior than the slaverings of the "get in there brigade" and friends!
