Re: African Cup of Nations 2019

Another Tunisia penalty this for a clear handball, VAR confirms the award.

Maybe not as the ref now decides to go over to the screen himself to look at the incident.

Overturned by the VAR, the review angle did not look great and VAR causes the wrong decision to be reached.

Ref lost the plot. Bonkers stuff.

Whabi Khazri also seemed to lose the head on a couple of occasions as well, not that I can blame him.

That ref was pretty hopeless.

Algeria go 1-0 up with an og.  They have been the better side first half and deserve to be in front.

Re: African Cup of Nations 2019

VAR is currently reviewing a potential penalty for handball in favour of Nigeria 70 minutes in.

Penalty given and Mandi booked.

Ighalo to take the penalty.

And he scores 1-1 after 73 minutes.

Algeria with a free kick in an excellent position in the final seconds of injury time.

GOAL!!!  Mahrez with a fantastic free kick 2-1 to Algeria.

There is no time to hit back and Algeria are through to the final.

Heartbreaking end to the game for Nigeria.

Re: African Cup of Nations 2019

My tip to reach the later stages reached the Final stage, so I'll stick with Algeria to win.

Finally catching up with this tournament, and thanks ArabChris for the updates to this point.

Quite variable quality on show: Algeria look good to get to the later stages.

Winners, Algeria, hope folk listened three weeks ago

I feel they were very, very lucky tonight though.
