Rumours of Scott Fox joining don’t look like they’re going to happen. It looks like he’s joining Partick.

I'd give him until the betfred cup starts.

Interested to see how they do this season. I dont feel like they have made any major signings but I reckon they will be a lot stronger and much closer to the top of the league.

Looking for a club in the central belt for family reason - will rule him out for us if the distance from Dundee policy is still in place

Current Squad:
GK: Seigrist, Deniz?
RB: L Smith, Wardrop
CB: Connolly, Reynolds, Frans, Watson
LB: Sporle, Robson, Booth
Centre Mid:
Butcher, Bouhenna, Harkes, Stanton
Wide/Attacking Mid:
Pawlett, McMullan, M Smith, Chalmers, Glass, Banks
ST: Clark, Sow, C Smith
Cant see us signing any more defenders. I think we definitely need another experienced Winger and of course a striker.
Squad looks OK though and I know people scoffed at Neilson saying he'd be comfortable going into season with current squad but i dont think we are far off. 4 signings and I think we are set. Considering Robbie has said they wont be signed unless they are better than what we have, it might take a while.
1 GK (Deniz Id be fine with)
1 CM (creative)
1 Winger
1 Striker

Is some of our inactivity down to us maybe looking at moving some players on before signing any new players, thinking Barton, Rabitsch, Aird, Lloemba - some of whom were signed on longer deals last season.
I hope not an it is down to us being better a keeping our business in house while getting the deals across the line!

Cant see it being anything to do with that. Would expect that if we can do anything with them then that will be seen as a bonus.
A quick social media check will tell you that Loemba is chilling on holiday with his family and Aird seems to be just playing golf most days so neither seem to be seeking deals elsewhere as trialists etc. Cheers Csaba.

A Neilson quote from the Courier:
United are having to show patience to make further signings, with Neilson saying: “It’s quiet just now. There’s a bit of a lull.
“The English teams aren’t back yet. After they start up again the market moves about a bit.”

I think Lawrence Shankland's contract with Ayr expires today. Not sure if that's been a factor in whether he's not signed for anyone yet.

Seriously. What a lot of shite.
Just in the last few days i've seen players from England sign for Celtic, Dundee, Hibs, Hamilton, Sevco, Motherwell, Inverness, Livi etc etc.

Makes it sound like we are talking to players who want to see what they get offered in England before making a decision!!

If I was a player, so would I to be honest. Thats where the money is. Its a short career, stupid not to at least try.

It makes no difference if the players are back training as to the movement of players. Most teams in England have been signing players for a month now during the holidays.

Some have moved on. Most haven’t as it’s still prior to preseason for them. As fans of course we’d love to think everyone wants to play for us. Truth is we’re going into our 4th season at the 2nd tier. The fact players are assessing options just shows we’re targeting a higher standard that have other offers.

He speaks pish.
There are deals already been done from English leagues.

Did he not say a week or so ago that you don’t get value for money in the English leagues so we’re looking elsewhere for players?

Maybe he means some players either get yes or no's from English clubs once back in training etc.

Wouldn't read too much into what Robbie says in the papers. Doubt he wants other clubs to be aware of potential targets.

Why would players need to wait till clubs are back in training? It's people behind the scenes that deal with transfers these days and that's been the case for many years.
It just sounds like an excuse from Neilson because it would seem we aren't any closer to signing anyone.

At the moment we have signed a Left Back who scored a belter of an O.G. on his debut (and who we actually signed in January).
And a Right Back who let's be honest, we know nothing about and could either be very good or a massive dud.
Other than that the only trialist we are looking at (Deniz) is someone Neilson deemed not good enough for the club just a few weeks ago.
I'm not exactly hitting the panic button just yet, but let's be brutally honest after the bitter dissapointment of the Play-Off Final it has been very uninspiring stuff from Neilson and Asghar so far this Summer.
Neilson's recent comments about being happy with the squad we have are also worrying and uninspiring.

No idea? I guess we'll find out.

A long way off hitting the panic button myself especially with the squad just returning just over a week ago.
The comments last week about being happy with the squad i took as bullshit like he said in January that we wouldn't see wholesale changes.
As i said a day or so ago id rather we got our business done as early as possible.

I'd rather we got another manager. I've no faith in Nielson.
I ken that's negative but his tactics give me the fear.
I'm hoping that two or three of our own young players make inroads into the first team squad and indeed starting XIs this year.
On that basis we don't want to be squad heavy.
We'd all like to see a couple of 'big' signings I'm sure but I hope there's still room for the likes of Chalmers, Glass, Banks & Appere to make a serious impression.
Anybody like to hazard a guess as to who might be the breakthrough youngster of the season?
