Fixtures 2019/2020

Due out at 9am on Friday June 21st.

Have a feeling we will play dundee at dense in the 1st game.

https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibernian/spfl-2019-20-fixtures-release-date-tv-and-other-key-dates-everything-you-need-to-know-1-4944851

Would like Arbroath away 1st game at that time of the year instead of blowing a gale in the winter months.

Re: Fixtures 2019/2020

A Friday night derby would be decent before I move away.

Still gonna be going to almost all the games but getting a Friday night game out of the way before would be very convenient.

FWIW, we’ve apparently been told all derbies will be Friday night.

I won't be surprised if the TV companies with Friday night option used up whatever  the allocation mainly is for shifting oor derbies tae Friday nights and for all 4 of them.

They won't get a bigger match to attract viewers for any other games unless it's a title decider that doesn't involve a Dundee Derby.

Was inevitable due to this daft TV deal the championship has.. Dont be surprised if Inverness away is on a Friday tae.

Friday night football is shite.

Re: Fixtures 2019/2020

Agree with both points above.

Moving to Abz end of this summer but have my season ticket already and hoping to beat my 33/36 next season so will be trying come down as much as possible,  but, I won’t be surprised if we get crowds of 9-11 thousand at derbies next year.

Lower league, poorer quality football ain’t gonna help as it is, coupled with the Friday night games will quite easily push away young families and folk who like a nice day out.

However, if we are winning the derbies I won’t give a f*ck.

Especially for fans who live out of town. It's maybe good for attracting fitba fans who are  after a good start to the weekend willing to swop just pub and or club for their Friday night and include fitba but the drinking time is limited for them and the travel time the same for out of town Arabs.

Some countries have later Kick Off times like 9 or 10 pm and some even later.
Doing that on a Friday night would suit me better even with young kids as nae school next day and others with nae bairns could make a night of it.

Once again not one f*ck given for the fans though. Annoying thing is the clubs have again agreed to what I’m told is a pretty shitty deal in terms of cash and the fans have been screwed over again.

Re: Fixtures 2019/2020

£26 for a live TV game in the championship. Fucking joke. And Uniteds pricing isn't much better tbf.

Re: Fixtures 2019/2020

I cannot wait for the derbies with our next door neighbours especially if we win. I don’t mind the near 80 mile round trip either on a Friday night as it should suit my sons work pattern.

Re: Fixtures 2019/2020

8 days before the fixtures are published Paddy Power has a book on next season's C'ship -
UNITED 3
PARTICK 3
FUN 4
ICT 5
AYR 5
PARS 6
LICHTIES 20
QotS 25
ALLOA 40
MORTON don't get a mention!
Guess Morton should be Arbroath's odds & Arbroath should be in excess of 40/1.
Checked other bookies but Paddy Power first with the odds. I imagine others' odds when they do come out will be more diverse - PP's book looks a bit squiggly.

Re: Fixtures 2019/2020

Not sure why they think Thistle are so high up there.  Don't think they have any money.  Caldwell isn't a bad manager and his sidekick is a nice guy, but don't think they are set up for promotion.  Main challenge is going to come from ICT in my opinion.  They'll turn some of last season's draws into wins.  Unless somebody manages to take wee Robbo away from them that is.  The Fun remain an unknown quantity.  We can assume that they'll be the Fun, but they may just prove us all wrong.  I suspect the league to be much wider next season with a larger gap between top and bottom.

I think there’s just a general assumption that Thistle cannot be as bad as they were last year and with most teams cutting back in terms of budget they will finish higher up the league on virtue.

That being said. McDonald was about the only reason they didn’t finish in the bottom two and with him leaving they might struggle for goals if they don’t find a replacement.

With so much business still to be done, making a prediction now is a bit of a fools errand. That being said, the smart money would probably be on us (for now.)

Re: Fixtures 2019/2020

I would not mind a Dunder derby at home to kick the season off I think it should be an exciting way to start the season.   If not then Arbroath either home or away for me as it would be easy for me to get to if away if possible.

Hopefully this season United can improve their record against the part time league opposition.

Dropped points against Dumbarton, Alloa and Brechin in recent years is not great

If it’s Arbroath it has to be at Gayfield, and it will almost certainly be one of us or Dundee that will be there on day one.

Not many months or clusters of fixtures look easy either but that's what we know about this league.

Who's fittest, gels as a team and kens these new fkn rules the best might get aff tae a best start.
