I’m just trying to work out who’s in the clique, I’m starting to feel left out now.
Seriously I’ve got more posts on here than most, but sometimes my posts get ignored too, so what?
I’ll never understand why folk who get upset by things like this on the internet post on the internet.

I'm not upset. More things to worry about than a a football forum.. Pat Reilly started the thread, not me. He asked the question and I've given my feedback. Again, not put out, not upset, no dummies being thrown. But at least two people agreed with my feedback so maybe I'm not the only one who feels the same way? Maybe you should be asking why 3 posters agree instead of the usual defensive knee jerk reactions? Some folk can't handle feedback without attacking the person who's giving the feedback?

I post on here, and a politics forum. Often on that forum, nobody responds to my posts, but it doesn't bother me. To be fair, my political views aren't from the popular part of the spectrum.
However, I can understand folk being put out if they feel they are being ignored, but I'm in agreement with The Shed..............

It's only the internet as The Shed states.
Maybe it would be an idea to pose a question if a poster is looking for a response?
As far as folk on here are concerned, I've met one poster, and nearly met Tek too.
Lastly, mind it takes all sorts, some people care what other people think more than others.

Good man RMS! Like I say it takes all sorts, and it's good we have different opinions. And..... you're posting again!

I think I you deserve credit for posting the topic Pat. Thanks for your kind words but I wont be posting regularly, just felt your question deserved a reply. People don't really want to hear what they don't like though even if its unbiased feedback. And just to clear up what some folk are saying about being peeved about being ignored, I'm not. But I can watch the conversations between the regular posters who ignore newcomers without being a member or logging in.
Tek, if I can answer your question before I go, the reason I declined a Q&A is because I want to retain my online privacy and questions there would inevitably lead to loss of it.

That's fair enough.
Still disagree with you (and LAO and whoever) that there is a clique or new comers get ignored or dismissed out of hand.
But you are entitled to your opinion, of course.

As I said above, I think RMS is probably overstating it, but some of the comments above do reflect a bit of a 'if you don't like it you know where you can go' attitude. That may be part of the reason that some people feel that there is a clique. There are a hell of a lot of needy posters on footy forums too. As somebody said above there are posters on EastFootball who are making that site pretty unbearable so I hope this one doesn't go that way.
I think the original post was a fair question and I think RMS's response was an honest answer which chimed slightly for me too - although as stated I think he is overstating a little. The way to ensure we get more posters on here is to be open and to allow people to feel included. Conversation has to be a two way thing!
For me, I only really felt my opinion was taken on board in the music threads - which do set this place apart a little. I also don't live in Dundee any more so I do like it for the banter and some more local chat about the team. So for me, no clique, but if you ask the question then you do need to listen to the answer - which, to be fair, is what has happened, generally.
PS - I noticed that nobody actually commented or responded to my post....;-)

I never said there was a clique. I agreed with RMS that quite a few of my posts, particularly recently have disappeared down a vacum or, have effectively ended a thread having never been responded to. I wasn't going to post earlier because I had a suspicion that this would be how it would end up. It was just interesting that more than one other person had noticed the same thing happening to their own posts. From my end I've never felt like there is a clique on here.

I don't think there is much wrong although you'll never keep everyone happy. Let's just say if the question is asked then shooting the answerer just defeats the question

Thankfully I’ve been banned from Arabs Anonymous. Pretty certain it’s run by a guy (or guys) who keep making new excuses as to why they don’t go to games and ban people who disagree with them.
One of the lads I chat to on messenger who can’t get to games due to living and working down south got bullied on there to the point he set his own group up Arabs United lol.
Think it’s hard to agree on everything besides our love for United tbh even in person folk will still have their own views maybe like I am learning saying certain stuff to certain people only and posting carefully on the groups.
Not everyone can go to games I missed a handful of home games and only went to a handful of away ones last season. Anyways going to games also doesn’t make you more of an Arab than the next person in fairness but it shows you go when you can, wouldn’t worry about those that make the excuses it’s only them missing out tbh.

Good, i'm glad you don't think that.
Fwiw i always felt your posts are very well received on here. But i thought that too about RMS and felt he was a popular poster on here.
This is all a bit of a surprise that people feel this way. But i will try and take it on board.

I'm finding it hard to get my head around this cliquegate. When you say "the wee club for 7/8 of you" is your criteria the top 8 posters, or just guesswork and a petted lip because you never got an answer on a couple of posts and these are the most frequent posters so they're to blame? The clues in the term messageboard, you put a message up and maybe get a response, it's no' a groupchat.
As for Utd Mad, thons full of people wi' multiple user names FACT, I've had debates with certain members , then all of a sudden they are being backed up by posters writing in the same style and terminology, even on occasion mixing up and forgetting who they were supposed to be, FACT. An abomination of a site!
I have spoken to a few of the posters mentioned in the op, and I think they felt people who had come on here and tried to disrupt this place (which they did for a while) got a bit too much leeway, that was their decision and bottom line if you're no' happy wi' something why would you want to carry on with it, no need for a fanfare just bin it, so yes rms or anyone else just give it a miss, because for me this is far superior to any United forum out there, and it's been going and will keep going with or without me or anyone else (apart fae Tek obviously)
I'm sorry if this seems an angry response, but I do like this site and if there was any sniff of cliques or cronyism I wouldn't have fuck all to do with it.
Finally I think if you're that bathered aboot no' getting a reply, I think maybe the answer you're looking for might actually lay there.

I should really make an effort to post more often. I read this forum daily but never bother to sign in much any more. I'll start putting more effort in to reply.
Not buying there's a clique in here btw, the only time I see someone being talked down or grouped up on is when they're talking a proper amount of shite. Seen it happen to regular posters also.

I don’t personally know anyone on here (as far as I’m aware) but I was messaged by multiple posters on here to welcome me and that they were happy to have a new poster.
I’ve only had a small sample period but yet to see the cliqueyness.

there’s zero ‘cliques’ on here.
this is unique* as it’s just Arabs talking about United, no infiltration.
*EastFootball too, but that’s dreadful. Always thought it was a bit of a Thompson apologist vibe.

Agree with this, that's what attracted me to TT.
Vast majority you can tell are totally obsessed about Dundee United, crave real Utd related info & improvements in spectrum of ways without being too abusive or talking absolute gobshite all the time & so far we haven't had the forum spoiled by dees or zombies dropping in with their pish patter.
We all have our moments though, my last ain I called you a "fkn heart disease supper", which I appologise for MockChop.
This forum has continued to be a place where United mad fans have mainy kept the heed fairly well over what's been a traumatic period supporting the club.

only ever been an occasional poster, however could this apply to some more frequent posters?
This is where I'm at. That game finished in the AM for me, spent the rest of the day getting hammered on "celebration" prosecco, spouting drivel on here and cutting a cricket pitch into my garden. I usually just read in the offseason without posting because the CLIQUE are miles better connected to the club than I could be on transfer rumours. Even when Betfred starts I'll just look in.
