Happy birthday Sir. 63 today.
Imo THE best player I've seen playing for United. A privilege to watch him grace the hallowed turf of Tannadice and everywhere else I've seen him play.

Aye, without shadow the best footballer to ever play for United. Unassuming and hugely talented, he could have played for any club in the world.
Too much of a gentleman to have moved on to management.

Great player, undoubtedly the best we’ll ever see in a United jersey also a great bloke whenever I’ve met him.
Happy birthday.

None of you guys see Rodney Sneijder’s United cameo then? 😂

The greatest Dundonian ever.

Only caught the last few years but I've caught up on videos etc. I really wish he did the odd interview here and there. That would be a great get for azone. Being so elusive makes him all the more intriguing

He has refused ArabZone a few times.
Apparently (a rumour, mind) that he told Joe to fuck off for nipping his head

Wouldn’t surprise me, played golf with him and Jimmy Mac a few years back and while he talked about his playing days, he wasn’t really into long tales of the good old days like so many ex-pro’s are.

On a different note, I see the club are looking to employ somebody to work on arabzone content!
To keep this on track though - Barry is a living legend.

I shouldn't think that was the first or the last time he's heard that.

A bit late but a Happy Birthday to without a shadow of a doubt the greatest player to pull on a Dundee United top, I think if you asked anyone who played with him they would unanimously agree, the gentleman just oozed class, never flustered, always calm as you like and made everything he done seem and look so easy.
I heard a story from an ex player and colleague of his, that wee Jim (ever the perfectionist) used to try and squeeze more out of him, because he used to do just, what was necessary, he would win a sprint but just, he would ease up instead of winning it by few feet, wee jum seemingly used to get apoplectic because he thought he could do so much more, but hey he didn't do too badly did he, maybe it wasn't in his nature to be showyaffy, but for me he didn't have to be, he is an absolute legend who could mix with superstars and never look out of place.

McGuigan?
Manilow?
Gibb?

Best player I have seen for united. my first couple of united games i was amazed at how he seemed to read the game 2-3 seconds before every other player on the park did, and how effortlessly he could play the game. Win a header, intercept a pass, change position to guide an attacker away from danger, track a runner, bring the ball out of defence, play all kinds of passes, clear the ball when required, and make it all look easy

What we would give for a Dave Narey these days. He is the direct opposite of a player who can hit himself in the face with a clearance. To be fair that player did have some of the Narey qualities, but not the skill.
