The St MIrren defeat on the back of Gothenburg was sore as fuck. Mind the two pedestals in inter sport in the wellgate prepared to show the Uefa cup and the Scottish. But the Motherwell final was the worst for me. Even more painful watching Motherwell fans walking home dour as fuck. Add in a really bad acid trip on the bus home and it was the worst day of my united supporting life.

Tried hard to think of the worst: all were bad, maybe the only one where I wasn't hugely disappointed was 2005, 'cos I expected nothing that day. But that's not what you are asking, so I'll go for 2014 as the worst defeat, it was just a shit day all round, while I at least enjoyed part of the day at the other defeats.

1981 L.C. final for me.
The chance to win the trophy 3years on the trot blown. This for me was the 1st in a long line of finals that we should have won but didnt.
A utd legend H Mcalpine but this was not his finest hour.
88 for me. I'm still not over it

1988 for me.
Cried my eyes out at full-time (I was 8). Watched it on the telly with my old boy. Few boys in my street were having a wee kickabout just after full time outside our house on the wee patch of grass on our street. Old boy said to me go out there with your full strip on (that i'd wore the whole match) and wear your colours with pride. Got 1 or 2 snidey comments fae a couple of the wee guys.
But now I see his thinking. Don't ever be afraid of what you are and make no apologies for it.
P.s cried again after '91 (that one I was at).
P.p.s defo made '94 all the sweeter (as Kiwi said).

88 for me too Tek. Was 8 too and at the game. In tears for about 2 hours after it. All the way home on the train. Was so bad celtic fans did a whip round for me.
As you say though... best day of my life 21 May 1994 and made all the more sweeter by days like 88 and 91. See im not sure many other sets of support has ever felt a joy like that... cos youd had to have experienced the disappointment after disappointment. If i get one or two momenta loke that before im gone, ill be happy. It doesnt get any better

'87 was the worst for me. Never expected to beat Celtic in any final. Motherwell was just a weird game of football and St Johnstone was the start of where we are now. We won't be back at Hampden for a Final for a long time...
