    Past victories against St.Mirren

    Cannae sleep.

    So watching old Utd stuff to get in the mood for tomorrow (well later tonight now).

    First up.

    Scottish Championship -
    Sat 22nd April 2017

    Dundee United 3 (Mikkelsen 7, Andreu 66, Spittal 90) 
    St.Mirren 2 ( Mackenzie 38, Todd 86)

    Strange to think (as this match was just over 2 years ago) but this victory kept Utd in with a (slim title chance) but condemned jack Ross's St.Mirren to 2nd bottom and just 2 points off automatic relegation.

    Scottish cup game this year was great.

    Conveniently forgotten by McCann et al when doing their pre-match point scoring, unlike our defeat to Inverness in the cup which they honed in on and proclaimed them favourites despite us being unbeaten and dominating all 4 league games.

    Other than that I’m thinking the 1-0 last year to stop them winning the league. Crap game but thankfully stopped them winning the league on our patch.

    Not much else jumping out at me.

    Just looking back at recent games between as and there has been an unusual amount of goals in the 37/38th minute (Andreu Irn Bru (37), Loy Irn Bru (38), Mallan in a 3-2 defeat there in 2017 (37), Gary MacKenzie in a 3-2 league win at Tannadice in 2017 (38), Scott Fraser in a 0-2 win there in 2016 (38). The more I check the more there seems to be. Would have money on a goal in the 38th min.

    Here's a favourite of mine: 9/3/85.

    Sturrock sent off, St Mirren given a penalty when Bannon wasn't 'seeking to gain an advantage' as per the rules, and the referee was Bob Valentine from Dundee. Big travelling support backed the team to a 4-1 win.

    IIRC we were in absolutely terrible form in the league and St Mirren had just signed Eric Djemba-Djemba so all their fans were wearing flat caps.

    Pretty sure he got booked, had a stinker and was subbed after about an hour.
