My ratings Fwiw.
Siegrest - I've doubted this guy all season long. But I thought he was absolutely magnificent tonight. Big, strong, commanding in the box, agile, alert. Bravo Benji. Your best in a Utd jersey so far (by miles). 9/10
Watson - Played well. Never troubled at RB and got forward at times. 6/10
Connolly - He worries me in the air. But he made one supreme block to prevent an almost certain ICT shot on goal from close range. 6/10
Reynolds - Solid stuff fae the big man 6/10
Robson - Done well tonight. Got forward once or twice too to good effect. 6/10
McMullan - Excellent again. The wee man is really hitting form again and becoming pivotal to our team. No one in a Caley shirt got near him all night. Great spontaneous reaction and pass for Sow's goals. 8/10
Pawlett - One or two nice nice touches and runs into the box. But I see very little (if any) end product from Peter Pawlett (as yet). 5/10
Harkes - His best game in tangerine imo (by miles). Stood up and was a man tonight. Tracked everything. Switched passes ,got stuck in, slid in and all round just displayed a maturity to his play that defied his young years. 7/10
Bouhenna - Wow. what a revelation at CM. tall, strong, athletic, aggressive, silky and above all CALM. He fucking strolled it. 8.5/10
Clark - Took a great penalty. Unlucky with his first shot that hit the post. Ridiculous miss from his 2nd (open goal) shot that hit the opposite Lower East Stand post. He is a Striker that is always in good positions. And love him or hate him, that s a good trait to have imo. 7/10
Sow - Big man was good tonight (like a few others, his best in tangerine). Looks cumbersome at times and awkward in possession. At other times looks strong, skilful and a big handful for opposition defenders. He definitely gives us a different outlet. Fucking chuffed for him that he got his first goal for Utd tonight in such a big game (and at the East Stand). His goal seemed to go in in slow motion, but they all count. Fucking loved the crowds reaction to him scoring. 7/10
Subs -
Stanton - Very good when he came on imo. Sublime ball threw for Safranko's goal 7/10
Safranko - Great finish for his goal. Lucky not to be red carded though for a (shall we say) over enthusiastic challenge on the Caley player. 7/10
Booth - Slotted in well, but the game was Utd's by then. Nothing to do. 5/10
Agree with all, woulda gave benji a 10 still no idea how he got that one round post in first half, really a faultless performance
Changes I would make for st Mirren is butcher in for harkes, bouhenna is undroppable after that performance was so so calm on ball and the only other change is safranko but I’m no quite sure who I would drop, sow after that goal last night looked more confident but Clark is a poacher and will score, head ache for Robbie but a very good headache

Bit embarrassed to admit that I'm just recovering from a session that went on inta the early hours, following last nights proceedings. Me and the twa mates spent the latter half oe the evening in the company oe 2 Arabs fae Glesgae.
1st half we were up against it a wee bit. We got an early chance by Pawlett but Ridgers saved it. Thought that boy Walsh ICT had a brah attempt, might have come aff Pawlett, but Siegrist tapped it round the left post. Think White had a shot that once again Siegrist stopped it well.
Caley had 2 more attempts, think it was Doran, but Siegrist stopped it both times.
Harkes had a no bad effort but Ridgers managed to get doon low and save.
For the last 8-9 minutes oe the 1st half, was nervous as phuck.
Harkes again was involved in what was to come. He put a bah in fae the right oe the box inta Nicky Clark - Clark then set up Pawlett who got his shot away. Saw it hitting somedy, some hands went up, and Clancy pointed to the spot. Clark who had been in some pain efter getting kneed in the ribs, cool as phuck putting the ba to the net the 1st of the night.
The 2nd half from oor point a view, was better than the 1st. Clark had a brah atempt fae a free-kick but it was saved by Ridgers.
No lang efter tho comes oor 2nd goal. Harkes on the left at the half-weh line, put a great ba across to the right to McMullan. He manged to kinda flick the bah over the defender who was on the deck, and it went right to Sow, who managed to turn on Donkey and chip the ba in.
There was some great stuff on the cards, Harkes again showed some great control and a pass, then Pavol put in a great cross into the box for Clark to trap and shoot but he hit the post. Clark was there when there was a balls-up we the ICT defender and Ridgers. Clark was thru on goal but the ba had just ran awa fae him a wee bit, he managed to get to the ba before the by-line, but his effort came aff the left post when it looked like a dead cert.
The fine play was to pay off tho, when just ootside the box, Pavol passed to Harkes, who put in a nice wee header to Stanton I think. Stanton out the ba thru to Pavol who ran over it and put inta the left and score.
MOTM for me was probly Siegrist. Some very strong and excellent saves and brave show stoppers. Bouhenna was very composed and strong in Mid. Showed some great skill and his passing was excellent. However Harkes has to get a mention as he had a direct contribution to each goal.
Have to say a special mention to all the guys in the Shed, for their attempts to win the Eurovision. Dont know if they're regulars at Tanny, but their sing-along acompanied by the the resident East Stand Choir made a great atmosphere. Stereo sound in the middle oe the George Fox.

Agree with almost all the comments but I think you could add a +1 to everyone’s scores.
Everyone played well.
There were no weak links and that’s the difference under Robbie and the signings funded to bolster the side in January
Come on United!!!

Anyone know if the Shed will be open for the semi, enjoyed that last night, brought back a lot of good memories.

ET GF and Shed open for Utd fans.
Assume St Mirren will get JYM stand. Wonder if Utd might offer them the JK as well in return for half of the stand along the pitch as well as the end behind the goal at their ground? That would bump our away allocation up by about a 1000 from just 1600 if it is just behind the goal.

Only missed a couple of minutes at the start of the game, so my anger at the club subsided quickly, but I'd still point out that the ground was nearly 5700 short of capacity being filled, and some fans most likely stayed at home/in pub rather than bother due to cash gate decisions.I haven't slated Siegrist in the past.
What's the point?
A player from the Club we love receiving backlash does nothing for anyone.
Especially goalkeepers who thrive on confidence.
And don't be deceived that he wasn't aware of his lack of popularity from the 'fans'.
Goalies in England on 50 times his wages are throwing the ball into the back of their nets.
Siegrist misses a cross at Alloa and he's shite.
I've backed him & am proud I did.
His point is that if he gave him criticism then it's only right he receives praise when he deserves it. So as to make it known it's nothing personal on his part.
But you knew that.
I don't criticise our players.
I encourage them.
A show of support.
From a supporter.
The level of criticism is often extreme, bordering on hate.
Not good.

Said on the radio there were 2,500 Buddies at Dens this afternoon.
Will we take that to Paisley?
Depends on the home leg result to an extent but you'll only have 2 days to decide/get tickets.
8,000 home fans last nite.
Could that grow to 9,000 for Thursday?

We’ll only get behind the goal away.
Think we’ll need some of the JK at least for home supporters tbh.

Tek, bar the keeper, I think 6/10 is pretty stingy for the defence. For me the main reason that we have turned things around from the Csaba days is the confidence and experience that Reynolds and Connolly have brought in the middle and the better cross stopping that Robson and Watson have provided with a longer run in the team. To play 2 legs v ICT and get 2 clean sheets is a very big part of why we're in the final. Whilst we have been toiling to score goals, we have generally been tight at the back for some time. I'd give the defence 7s and 8s. 2 clean sheets is immense and also builds confidence for the finals.

Agreed Finn.
4 clean sheets in our last 5 games is not to be sneezed at.
The only goal we lost in a month was the one at Morton in the dead game.
Praise be to Benji as well who wasn't playing at Morton.

There's a difference between faith and blind faith.
On a different matter, the George Fox assistant referee, Matt Lucas has lost a bit of weight.

They will sell out the 3 other stands. They did last week for Hamilton game.

Yes, we kept a clean sheet but that was completely because of Siegrest who made one incredible reflex save and came out to thwart not one but two Caley one-on-one's when our 2 in front of him were caught flat footed.

That's true.
Only way we'd get mair fans in is if you buy home end tickets afore they sell out.

That's fair comment, but we did keep our nearest challengers who scored 4 in the last tie to those few chances. That's down to the defence not the keeper. 7s and 8s for me. Nice thing to be arguing about for a change though.
