Hes not. Absolutely bizarre decision to play him tonight.

Wow....what happens when you run at the opposition

Well that wasnt easy on the eyes but we got there in the end. Thank fuck
I think both teams had good and bad spells.
I know he has to get Sow match fit but surely a sub appearance would be better for his first time back from injury? He showed flashes i thought so hopefully that is him now on the road to full recovery and im sure he will be a key player when fully fit.
Some goal from Safranko also McMullans very well done.

Yep, and close down defenders - the Ayr back four had all the time in the world to pass the ball around first half - pressured in the second and they crumbled.
Good result but in reality a poor overall performance flattered by the second half fightback - four shots on target in 90 mins two of which were the goals, one was a shite free kick and cannae think what the other one was.
Plenty room for improvement before the play offs but not a lot of time...

Not a lot of quality on show tonight overall, but 2 quality finishes (3 if you include Ayr's goal).
Thought we thoroughly deserved the 3 points over the 90 minutes.
That's 2nd secured. Now need to just look ahead to the play-off's and work out what is our strongest team/formation.

It was a strange decision to start him, agreed.
Fwiw i thought he done 'ok'. Taking into account how long he's been out and his lack of match sharpness/fitness/training etc.
He was very raw looking but i seen some promise from him that better is to come in time perhaps.

Agreed and i can see what Neilson has tried to do tonight by starting with Sow and trying to get him upto speed but IMO he should have made an appearance from the bench.

As soon as 2nd's mathematically confirmed we can wrap Safranko and McMullan up in cotton wool and try Sow and Cammy Smith (where is he?) up front. The more Sow plays the better he'll get I think.
Early doors before he tired I thought he looked a handful for Ayr.

I thought his tactics were good. Give Sow an hour then bring Safranko on and really have a go.

Neilson has deserved some stick in the last few weeks and likewise deserves some credit tonight. A pretty flat performance (after the goal) was changed round at half time. Players seemed to come out with a bit more fire in their bellies. Substitutions were very good too.
McMullen and sow did well to tire out the defence which I've no doubt helped our subs when they came on.
Sow v unlucky not to have a pen but ref bottled it imo and he offers a totally different threat to the other strikers.
All in all a decent performance and an important one in the race for 2nd

Agree
Sow has had muscle injuries, better to give him up full warm up before the game than have him sitting on the bench for an hour and coming on. safranko looks well suited to come on for 30mins and give his all action performance against tiring defenders.

Would agree with that TEK not the best ever performance but thoroughly deserved the win, More importantly puts down a marker if we meet again in the near future.

That was hard work. And Utd worked hard 2nd half.
Fairly poor first 45 to put it mildly. Good subbies fae Robbie and a much better second half performance overall. Twa great goals especially Pavs , ain o the best this season. Sow did ok.
MOTM probably McMullan for me.
PS though the lad Smith played quite well for Ayr 😉.

Clever from neilson leaving safranko on bench getting him fired up
Terrible first half, stone wall pen not giving for some reason, Clark and safranko have to play up top together, I think eventually it will be sow and safranko tbh, thought sow was actually decent, just pray he can stay fit
Liam smith on tonight and the rest of the games we have played them is absolute bargain, looks a really good find, also there goalkeeper had a howler tonight but he’s best in league and someone we should be after, seigriest is a donkey

Buzzin with that win, as are my bairns. Fkn needed that so badly.
Double subbie was perfectly timed and changed the dynamics on the pitch as well as the feeling stands.
Sow will be better with game time and fittness and see him as being massive in the run in.
Think the vibe fae the stands helped after Clark & Šafranko came on. Lucky 13th attempt at killing off the run of live games where we didn't win with a 13th goal of the season for Šafranko!

Was 14th attempt Mr P.
But now that horror stat is gone hopefully we can start embracing these type of big games.

Would anyone take McDaid from Ayr?
He's not signed a new deal yet.

100%

He'd play left mid instead of Robson, oh yes.
I've been impressed with him every time i've seen him play, but admittedly that's only against our defence, so who knows? ![]()

Thought we deserved the win. Loads of urgency and positive play in the 2nd half after a poor first. McMullan drew so many fowls and worked his balls off

If we are playing in the championship yes. However if we manage to get up then i would like us to be trying to get better players.

Agreed.
Even Championship, I wouldn't say starter every week. But a decent squad player.
Wouldn't have him if we are Premiership.

Has he been constantly impressive over the season at this level? A level that all or most of us can agree on is very poor overall. We are all only going on what we have witnessed in 4 games against us this season. It would be a risk but it would maybe turn into a cracking signing he is only 23 years old.
