Season tickets 19/20

On sale saturday.
Pay at the gate prices are a disgrace in my opinion.

PATG prices are a complete joke.

Great that they've held season tickets but the patg prices are a joke.

Re: Season tickets 19/20

Prices are only held if you buy before the 3rd of May, then the 25th of May.

Bonkers imho.

Re: Season tickets 19/20

There are lots of positives in this package.
If and its a big if we get promoted you can watch top flight football for the same price as tier two +
Membership scheme for occasional/ weekend workers +
Still able to buy monthly after Zebra pulled out +
U/12s still £1 per game+
PATG if you don't join the membership scheme or buy in advance goes up -
Far more positives than negatives but its easier to have a moan than point out the plus points.

Re: Season tickets 19/20

Nothing to do with having a moan.

They're expecting us, well me, to buy my Season ticket before this season is officially finished, or it goes from £345 to £380.

That's an increase of almost £2 a game.

The £345 price was available for far longer last year.

That's all I care about.

Why should a walk up to the gate be penalised?

Oh and not all top flight clubs charge £26 to get in. Some are less.

And do you think it's right to charge away fans £24 in the championship?

Re: Season tickets 19/20

If I buy at £380 that's £21.16 per game....

A guy paying in advance per game will be £22 I think.

So anyone that can't afford to, or has other priorities for their spare cash at this point, rather than getting to July like every other season, gets to save 89p per game over someone who hasn't bought into the membership scheme.

I'm on holiday in November I might miss 1 or 2 games.

Even one game makes it £22.35  per game.

We're being told the investment in the squad will still be there, we won't cut corners, so why all the different structures and dates?

I don't care really if the guy paying at the gate pays exactly the same as a ST Holder, I don't care that the club offer incentives/cuts to get PATG fans in.

The cost of entry should be £X, no pay in advance, no penalisation for  just wanting to turn up on the day etc

Re: Season tickets 19/20

Ken boys that work ah week and that winna be able to come in during the week to get a ticket, so will hae to PATG. Some oe them work a good few Saturdays so its no really worth their while getting a ST. Dinna think it's fair they're gonna be forking oot 26 quid for the privilege.

Dare I say it, but it's like they're trying to discourage PATG. (or even do away we it). Surely that's no what they've got in mind. Canna believe 26 quid for a Championship gehm.

I'm one of the support who pays in due to ST not fitting with work commitments. I've 3 bairns STs as it's a good price and no brainer. Normally only miss 1 or 2 matches at home per season but that's due to taking holidays to make it.

Initiailly reading the pricing thought and said aloud "What the fuck", but reading intae it the other options give me a chance of a lesser & more acceptable increase.

Problem I see is we have thousands of 1 to 5 to 8 to 10 attendees per season that won't be so interested at these pay in prices and put off.
Plenty won't know the structure that cheapens the price and just not go.

I get the maybe clever ideas but ken a lot of fans will be put of at higher prices when I've thought lower prices are a good way forward especially in a fitba mad place like Dundee. Can't be pricing out new fans either.

Re: Season tickets 19/20

I'm wondering who was spoken to during the fan consultation: Mike maybe?

Keeping in mind some fans travel a distance to games, buying in advance if PATG customers will prove very near impossible. Also it's far less likely folk will decide to go on the day if they are PATG.

And it goes without saying, £24 or £26 no matter what league we are in is quite ridiculous, especially in the circumstance that the game is changed for television. Decisions made indicating that people at the club are totally out of touch with reality.

Great points made by David Blunket:

Hope Mal Brannigan has a rethink.

Re: Season tickets 19/20

The membership idea I'd a good one in principle but if I'm right in thinking it's a £25 saving over the season then tbh it's hardly worth the effort

Re: Season tickets 19/20

Can PATG folk not just purchase advance tickets online for the discounted price then pick up on the day? 21st century solution.

That would be what you would expect to happen.  For the 3rd or 4th season cant remember exactly my season ticket is the same price. The new owner has invested n the squad, i was therefore expecting an increase.

Not if they wont know until matchday if they can make it or not.

Easy solution is buy a season ticket. However not everyone can or will for a lot of different reasons.

Re: Season tickets 19/20

Was in today renewing mine. Incase anyone hasn't read it you will get a card for next season instead of the traditional book. There will be stewards standing at turnstiles with hand held scanners for next season. The following season there will be new turnstiles.
The cards can be added to for cup games. So if you want to go to a league cup game for example you go online and add it to your season card then just scan in on matchday.

Looks like a wee step forward is on the go and mair progression coming.

Faster through the turnstiles is a must with bottle necks due to those that like a pint, big games & last minute in plus all combined intae 1.

Would also help the displays work better gettin in quicker.

Re: Season tickets 19/20

They are trying to get away from cash at turbstyles on matchday.

The card top up for cup games sounds good.

Re: Season tickets 19/20

Canna believe they're willing to take a risk of losing some income because they want to do away with cash gates. Fowk that go to a few gehms a Season or just the odd gehm are'na gonna come back.

Incidentally, have the new cairds got yer photae on them.

Works at so many clubs, I would imagine they’d put a both at each stand to sell tickets

So a cash booth instead of a cash turnstile.  Why?  What is the fucking difference except you need to queue twice?  And it doesn’t work at so many clubs, it gets moaned about and causes hassle every away game it happens.

If they want to do away with cash gates, put chip and pin machines in a couple of turnstiles in each stand.  Don’t put your prices up so folk don’t come.  Don’t make folk stand in a queue to pick up tickets they’ve ordered over the phone or you’ll charge them more.  Don’t fuck about with a cash booth to make folk queue twice.

Fuck sake it’s not like it’s busy.

That last statement sums it up for me: it's getting even less busy, our gates are falling, so why put off supporters?

The thought of the hassle is putting me off, presently.
