The opening Semi Final of this (long, long, fucking long) tournament produced a suitably tightly-contested affair. The Semi was eventually won by the album 'XTRMNTR' by Scotland's own Primal Scream. This album will now enter the Final of the competition after defeating the (now eliminated) album 'White Blood Cells' by The White Stripes.
