Aberdeen V's Dundee United

Well that's Pre-Season over and now it's time for the real stuff once again.

Couldnae have hand picked a tougher start imo.

What's your predicted line-up and score ?

.....................................Rado............................
Watson..............Morris......Fojut...........Townsend
.........................Paton............Rankin.....................
........Dow.................Armstrong.........GMS................
....................................Ciftci...................................

Subs - McCallum,Telfer,Spark,Bilate,Graham,Erskine,Connolly

I think we'll lose 2-0.

Real worrying lack of cover at Full Back at the minute.

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United

going by the reports after every pre season game telfer must be pushing for a start

but the above 11 is nailed on for me as well

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United

Given, Souttar and Dillo's injuries think that'll be the starting 11.

I think Spittal will be on the bench, instead of Connolly or Spark.  Also not sure what the GK situation is, maybe new guy on bench.

Think it'll finish 1-1.

Never mind fullback, Dillon is the only cover right across the back four.
if any one else gets injured we're Fubar'd

Correct so, given Watson's lack of game time I think he might go with PAton at RB and play Telfer in the middle

He'll make the bench ahead of Spark.

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United

Paton would get destroyed by Pawlett, Mcginn or Hayes so please lord not him.

Really hate these bastards with a passion, hope we fuck them.

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United

I don't know what the solution is, but I don't see how we can play 4-2-3-1 against Aberdeen.

Last season they destroyed us in midfield and with their season having started weeks ago, us not looking great in pre-season, I just cannot see how we can play that formation.

I said it on the Leeds Away thread, I would be very surprised if Watson played, having had less than one half of football, I just can't see it. You never know though!

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United

how about...

.....................................Rado............................
Watson..............Morris......Fojut...........Townsend
...Armstrong....Paton.....Telfer.......Rankin.........Erskine............
....................................Ciftci..................................

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United

4-3-3, they're nothing special.

.....Rado......

Watson.....Fojut.....Morris.....Townsend

Paton.....Amo.....Rankin

Dow.....Ciftci.....GMS

Townsend and Watson to track their fast wingers, Fojut and Morris no messing get the ball cleared.

Paton, Rankin and Amo battle like fuck to keep Flood and Robson quiet.

Dow and GMS keep them pinned back and them, nadir to do his stuff.

Jackie read them this post and we'll win.

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United

Hoping for a good start on Sunday, bloody gutted I'm no making it, withdrawal from Utd is getting to me now!!

Hoping for a win to kick start but with them having played a few games more in competitive action I'd happily take a draw with a solid defensive performance.

No bothered If we play 6-4-0 as long as we win.

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United

I can see Spittal playing at right back with the usual midfield and front players. Personally, I'd like to see Euan Spark get a chance in one game next week if Watson isn't ready, which seems certain.

Too much commotion

Re: Aberdeen V's Dundee United

I hope we see Connolly come off the bench if we need some more attacking impetus.

He's been the real dark horse of our pre-season.

Looks ready to enhance the first team now.

Think he'll step into GMS's bates. Well impressed with his skills last season but his decision making and end product were poor to the point that it was always lost possession. Honestly cannot believe his improvement this season where he seldom wastes possession and it's always productive. It's like he's condensed GMS's last two season's learning curve into a close season.
