Jobs for the boys?

I hate this job for the boys malarkey, if these appointments don’t go well ashgar will be gone making him jobless

Difficult one: accusations of nepotism might be easy for some, but Tony must have great faith in the abilities of Adam (and the others, but especially Adam).
Knowing the way football fans can react when things go askew, TA must be confident that our Recruitment and Academy is on a better path than it was. In any case, it will be a few years until we see if these changes bring improvement, by which point I'd be expecting United to be challenging for Europe and contesting in Cup semis and finals.

Ashgar Snr is the appointment I have most concern about so him bringing in his offspring does nothing to alleviate that concern. It also certainly draws into question the Goldie appointment too. Jury remains out and in this case it is going to take some time to prove either way.
I'm also a little concerned that our 'corner shop' club is recruiting a Walmart level management structure. Hope Mr Ogren has deep pockets and a loyalty to go with them.

Interesting comment Finn.
It does seem a little bit un-Dundee United-ish, splashing the jobs.
Not decrying the potential transition from corner shop to minimart, why would one?
Time will tell & who knows, in a couple of years we might be hailing the Ogren dynasty as the best thing since sliced bread.

Do we not need to have these roles for elite status or whatever it's called for youth academies??
Online!
Will David Byrne just be a talking head or could he turn out to be a psycho killer

I've now well and truly lost count - and the plot - when it comes to how many managers and coaches we have.
Hope tf this all works out
We could have a summer coaches conference for all our own coaches, authorised by the MD, organised by the Head of Sporting Development, keynote address by the Head Coach, made into a DVD by the Head of Sports Science etc

Ah that could be right enough
We were definately short of what is needed for whatever it's called, Elite Status?
Not having the top status would stunt the ability to attract and bring on youths like we need to so some positions probably need created.

We have been used to deriding the "Largs Mafia". I just wonder if we are going to referring to the "Manchester Mafia" in the future: Sporting Director MSD MMU, General Manager MSD MMU, Forwards coach completing MSD MMU.

Time will tell. Jobs for the boys or better to appoint those you have knowledge of and belief in.
Fans sometimes crave an old player they believed in but form, fittness and age can be an issue. I'd hope those involved in the non playing side are more likely to age better and improve with experience.
Like I said, time will tell.

Despite taking the piss a bit this might be exactly what the club needs. Structure and professionalism. One thing for sure the owner has a plan which involves Dundee United, more than you can say about the ST era. Just hope the investment in people pays the dividends it deserves to.
Just Joined the Forum. Was a bit sceptical about Adam but by all accounts his training has been good, Goldie has been implementing lots of changes. Things needed a shakeup as it has been many years since we produced young players that feature regular with the first team

Hamilton Accies’ youth set up is very good and Goldie was a huge part of that.

Ken Pat, yer probably right. It was kind oe a rhetorical question. Was thinking along the lines that the Club's income canna be funding the wages oe ah these posts, therefore as you point out, Oggy must be forking out oe his ain pocket.

I think Ogren is putting his hand in his pocket and furthermore he plainly has faith in the people he has delegated the running of the club to. I have no idea what timescale he has in mind for the project, but, he must have one. As supporters all we can do is have faith in the process.
