Dunfermline v Dundee Utd 26/03/19

Rearranged match this Tuesday we will need to see a huge improvement from the Alloa game if we are to take anything at all from the game.
If Connolly is ok id put him in for bouhenna but not sure if he is back.

Id go with

Laidlaw
Seaman
Bouhenna
Reynolds
Booth
Robson
Pawlett
Harkes
Butcher
Clark
Safranko

Re: Dunfermline v Dundee Utd 26/03/19

Safranko not playing at the moment (on subs bench) so tempting to bring him back in though I’d be tempted to use as super sub.

I think the team that finished v Alloa should start on Tuesday

McMullen has played for pars so may be some needle there

Enormous match for us - best chance in a long time to put some pressure on Ross County

Safranko should start - he will be buzzing and fresh imho

Buzzing with the chance to have mair game time to help us after gaining 2 international caps with a combined 10 minutes and a ref that stopped him having a chance of scoring fae a corner at the end.

He will be mair upfurrit than ever.

Re: Dunfermline v Dundee Utd 26/03/19

If Cammy Smith isn't fit that leaves Safranko/McMullan/Clark.
Could we have room for all three?
I'd keep our new left, Booth & Robson, going.
If Connolly is still out I'd be perfectly happy to see Bouhenna in.
Right back Watson or Seamam? If fit I'd go for Watson.
Then I want Pawlett & Harkes in my starting XI.
And I'm sticking with Big Benjamin. No time to be trying untried goalies, too much pressure on them. Try to support him, goalies thrive on confidence. Benji could well get us there.
So -

SIEGRIST
WATSON BOUHENNA REYNOLDS BOOTH
HARKES BUTCHER ROBSON
PAWLETT CLARK
McMULLAN SAFRANKO

Subs  - Laidlaw/Seaman/Fyvie/Stanton/Gomis/Nesbitt
Unavailable - Connolly/Sow

I've got 12 in my starting XI but hoping the ref (Euan Anderson) won't count. And I've gone with just 6 subbies to compensate.

Benji, to me, directly has cost us enough points to prevent us being top of the league right now. Put his gaffes alongside Rakovan's and the number of points they've jointly conceded on behalf of the team is why we are struggling, even with an improved pool of players since January.

Which makes it all the more puzzling that Robbie didn't secure a competent goalkeeper in the January window.

There's barely a goalie in the country that is immune to gaffes.
Some earning 50 x what we pay. There's been a load of TV howlers recently.
I have yet to see our goalie make a serious error.
Pity help him if he does, soshil meeja can be bad for footballers and goalies can really be on the receiving end.
It's a shame too cos goalies are addicted to confidence but Benjamin ain't feeling no love from the stands.
Nobody but nobody has a 100% success rate with crosses.

Re: Dunfermline v Dundee Utd 26/03/19

Depends by what you deem serious. Not as bad as the Millwall keeper last week, but it still cost a goal.  However Benji is better than Zwick, Smorznick,,& Kawashima on a par with Czerniak and Bell  but not as good as Pernis or Weaver.

Exactly the same as last season. Robbie should have persuaded our best keeper to come out of retirement.

Smeds, I'd love to be very wrong, but to me every keeper in our division, which is all that matters just now, is more dependable than Benji. And I'm thinking you don't actually go to the matches, if you've "yet to see our goalie make a serious error". He makes them every game,

Otherwise, of course, you are winding us up.

No Sow
To Dunfermline
He don't go
One day
He will play
But not today

For the Sow
It's no go

Next season
In the Prem
The mighty Sow
He might go
Goals ballistic
Or then again
He might fucking not

24 gone Peter Pawlett
Takes aim
Hits the net
And wins us the game

Another great win
The shed make a din
No sign of Sow
But a few games to go

He might yet turn up
With a whole different story
Give us the v's
And fire us to glory

Re: Dunfermline v Dundee Utd 26/03/19

A week ago we were 11 points behind and all but dead.

3 wins in a week and now just 2 behind.

Good bit of dig shown in the last week.

Players and Neilson deserve credit for not going down without a fight here.

On to Saturday.

I did expect it tbh, see predictions....
The team is getting a winning mentality which counts for a hell of a lot in this league.
It's maybe too little too late to win the league but should see us in a good place for the playoffs.
14 players all played their part tonight.

Re: Dunfermline v Dundee Utd 26/03/19

of course, it’s now solely about Saturday.

Then it’s the real (and maybe last) acid test up in the Highlands.

But..... Saturday, let’s get it done.

Re: Dunfermline v Dundee Utd 26/03/19

A better performance tonight, distribution from the back is poor, but the attacking three of McMullan, Safranko and Robson have pace to trouble any defence in the league, giving options on a big pitch for Pawlett to show his skills. Good goal from him.

Quite a physical match, feet being left in and slightly late challenges, overall a quite competitive and enjoyable spectacle. We should really have had the game out of sight before a (very slightly) nervy last few minutes.

There was never a crowd of over 6000 at East End tonight.

Agree re crowd. Be lucky if there was 3000 in home ends. Maybe slightly more but with our 1337 I'd say approx 4500/5000 at game . That's what happens when you count with 6 fingers tho !

Was my young lad that got it. He is fucking buzzing with it.

Some difference in performance tonight should have been atleast 2 up come half time. Great from Pawlett for goal. Some fight tonight we chased every ball.

Fkn rare experience for the wee man.

In 40 odd years of supporting United my best momento is my seat fae Hampden eftur Jason Scotland scored against Hibs in the SC Semi.
He's topped that at a fine young age.

No sure the match sponsor is that chuffed though, probably didnae want it anyway eftur that sair ain
