What team and formation would you like to see on Tuesday night?
Offline
it absolutely has to be 2 up front.

3-5-2 anyone? (Safranko and Sow not available remember).
………………….Laidlaw...……………..
……Bouhenna…Connolly...Reynolds...…
Pawlett…Butcher..Harkes..Stanton..Nesbitt
…………….Clark...C.Smith……..
Subs - Siegrest, Fyvie, Seaman, Robson
M.Smith, Gomis, McMullan

works for me.
The group I go to games with, I’ve mentioned going 3 at the back til it got to the point I gave up. Ross County won’t expect it at all.
We’d need energy on the flanks for 90 minutes.

Was watching MotD2 tonight and Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink was one of the pundits.
He made a good point I felt about the problem with 4-2-3-1 doesn't always work for him. Because the 2 wide players in the 3 invariably try and cut inside all the time, particulary if they are having no joy on the wing.
Just play Pawlett and Nesbitt. They're both supposed to be wingers. Put 3 cm's and tell our wingers to stay wide. Be that whether they are getting forward OR defending from the front.
We need to start...
1) Winning the midfield battle
2) Playing with real width and stretching teams
We are so narrow and so slow/predictable.

I would like 2 up front but I’ve given up any hope it will ever happen.
Might be time to play Laidlaw.
Back 4 and 2 harkes and butcher
3 - Pawlett, C Smith, McM
1- Clark
I have a feeling it is going to be very tight. Hopefully we can win it well and cause Rossco to have a wobble

Tek, that choice, I think, would get pumped again: Ross County would have freedom to get in crosses from both sides. To be brutally honest, I also think the three at the back would struggle. So bringing in Laidlaw for a debut hammering might not be best for the team.
Having said that, I reckon we have to find out if Laidlaw is an improvement on Seigrist at some point.
Nesbitt seems to want everything onto his right foot, and I might be tempted to give him a chance on the right, and stick Pawlett left to see if they can improve their 'winger qualities', which I've rarely witnessed with us. It's a frustration trying to pick an effective team looking at the unbalanced squad that has been assembled.
Laidlaw
Seaman Watson Reynolds Robson
Nesbitt Harkes Butcher Pawlett
Clark McMullan
Subs Seigrist, Connolly, Fyvie, Stanton, C. Smith, M. Smith, Bouhenna

Laidlaw
Seaman Connolly Reynolds Robson
Pawlett Harkes Butcher Nesbitt
Clark P. Watson

I'd play Smith with Clark up top. Pawlett and McMullan wide. The rest picks itself except maybe Booth in to give Robson a break.
Offline
Siegrist
Robson
Reynolds
Connolly
Seaman
Harkes
Stanton
Pawlett
Nesbitt
Cammy Smith
Clark

Sow is apparently fit and available.

Watson up front ...reminds me of the Raymundo masterstroke of sticking Durnan up front
Durnan and Watson can both score goals but don’t see either as starting strikers

I agree LEK - the team has to be pretty close to this for a big match.
I’m not against giving Laidlaw a run out. Maybe Alloa at home might be a better starter but depends what Robbie has seen from the keepers in training - which is better. I don’t know how good Laidlaw is. Benji has cost points recently though he’s not too bad, not great either.
The personnel outfield would actually be pretty similar for a 4-2-3-1 as for 4-4-2 as Cammy is the link man / striker. We all know Robbie will play 4-2-3-1 so no point fretting about it!

I doubt it very much and if he is and was to start i wouldnt imagine him lasting much more than half time.

If he actually is fit, Osman Sow has to start, for me, in tonight's match.

Defo. I'll be well excited if he starts.
Great opportunity for him & easy pic for Robbie with Safranco being away.
IF he's ok.
