Partick thistle v Dundee Utd 09/03/19

Must win match against bottom of the table Partick Thistle on saturday. We must win this if we are to stand any chance of winning this league imo.
Butcher back.
Pawlett suspended.
I would give Nesbitt a start this saturday.

Siegrist
Seaman
Connolly
Reynolds
Robson
McMullan
Butcher
Harkes
Nesbitt
Safranko
Clark

I just hope the players who do play for us saturday gove their all and get 3 points.

Re: Partick thistle v Dundee Utd 09/03/19

Partick are bottom & going down would be catastrophic for them.
They'll be absolutely desperate for points.
They showed their worth in the 2nd half last night.
I can't see it being pretty.

Re: Partick thistle v Dundee Utd 09/03/19

Must win. Or is that stating the obvious. No margin for error, 3 points has to happen.

I have lost a bit of faith in Robbie to get us playing decent football but right now I'll let that pass as long as we score more than Partick do.

Re: Partick thistle v Dundee Utd 09/03/19

It disappointed me greatly just how much we were bossed in midfield on Sunday.

With that in mind I would be tempted to go 3-5-2 and pack the centre of midfield on Saturday.

Would certainly allow us to press much higher than we've been and would be taking the game to them which is what we should be doing. Maybe a little risky playing without a left back but fuck me all we have to do is score more goals than they do, so why not.

Re: Partick thistle v Dundee Utd 09/03/19

I like the idea of going 3 at the back. And if the game needs it, we can switch to a 4-4-2 with a Stanton - McMullan sub.

Re: Partick thistle v Dundee Utd 09/03/19

Or a 3-4-3 with a Stanton - Sow sub.

Re: Partick thistle v Dundee Utd 09/03/19

How about we try 4-3-2-1? No width, overrun in midfield and boring futba all round? Hello, I’m John Titor and am posting this from the future.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

I'm not sure what our best team is & I don't think Robbie does either yet.

I agree and think too many unenforced changes have been our downfall, players need consistency to build form and not many have had that opportunity

Like the 11 however he wont play Nesbitt. I don't see any need to have Fyvie or Gomis anywhere with a Utd strip on next 10 games. Barring bubonic plague hitting Tannadice.

Would be my first 8 picks.
I'm a wee bit concerned about wee Charlie, boy doing a man's job?
Maybe that's a bit unfair.
Happy to give Robson a run.

Neilson saying everyone's back. So i take it from that, that Osman Sow will be available on Saturday.

Re: Partick thistle v Dundee Utd 09/03/19

Toiling to think of anyone who can be trusted to stay wide and effectively stretch an opposition defence (and midfield).
Don't think we have anyone who has that mindset.

Does anyone know if you can buy saturdays game online on Partick site?

Seaman.  Connolly. Reynolds.  Robson

                 Clark.        Safranko

Laidlaw, Bouhenna, Stanton, Nesbitt, Sow, Gomis, Watson

Ditch 4231 and get 2 up top and attack, we don’t have roper wingers so 442 isn’t ideal, so 4132 it is.  Get the ball to Safranko and get bodies around him for flick-ons and to win the second ball.  We need to start showing some urgency to win games.

Smith isn't a wide player. His best position is number 10.  Wasted out wide.

Just been in touch as can't make it tomorrow, and they say "I’m afraid this isn’t a service we offer anymore."

I'm sure I've used it before, anyways amateurzone it is (hopefully, if it works)

We don’t have wide players at all really, that formation would be designed to have a fairly narrow 3 supporting around Safranko with any real width coming from full backs.  All unimportant anyway as we won’t play that way or formation.
