Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

Lee Miller, spent more time on his barnet and falling down than focusing on the game.

David Fernandez, like many of the players at the time, just went through the motions. Scored a goal for us against Celtic and did not celebrate, hardly a Dennis Law moment - he only played a handful of games for them with most of them coming off the bench.

Tony Bullock - stupid name.

Warren Feeney - always in tabloid rags talking about Rangers

Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

Feeney - Never ever took tae him either.

Mind he scored v Zombies at the East stand end and never celebrated.Infact he looked fucking gutted.

Stark contrast to when he scored at Parkhead and went fucking apeshit.

Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

Some of the names mentioned from over the last 20 years are horrific.

These lists always bring up the memories of how bad we really were between 2000 and 2006.

Never liked Mark Kerr, cunt took Easton's shirt number when he was still there.

McIness, I believe the only cunt who didn't take the pay cut and probably the one player who could afford it.

Skacel, what a waste of a wage.

Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

Ok, in a right sadistic mood now: starting with:
Lance Keys, David Proctor, David Craig, Armand Benneker, Jamie McCunnie, Max Cream, Marcelino Galappo, Jamie Dolan, Reynaldo Clavasqiun, Joachim Ferraz, Rory Boulding. Subs Ally Maxwell, Alan Irvine, The Vulture,  Mvondo Attanga and Walter fucking Rojas

Hear their shout, hear their roar
They've probably had a barrel of ale and much, much more
Hooray, hooray, hooray, yeah
Over the hill went the swords of a thousand men

Nadir Ciftci.

The boy is a no-righter. Widnae get on with him at aw if I was acquainted in real life.

From day one, I saw through the moments of sublime magic that he would/could produce and at the massive deficit in our overall team game that his presence would/could cause.

Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

Billy Dodds - had, did, then really did , then again and have ever since despised that little fucking runt.

Oh, what came of the things we once believed?

Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

Sad, but I take to every Utd player as long as they wear the shirt, and give them the benefit of the doubt and patiently await the demonstration of why they are in such a position. Often, when they leave, I realise they were actually less than I gave them credit for (i.e. shit) but my memory data banks are usually erased about the same time.

Understand that, apart from being able to see through sublime magic?

Gavin Gunning.

I actually think he has the raw tools to become a very good player.

But his daft as a brush nature and propensity for blowing up at opponents and even team mates used to drive me potty with him.

Always remember he shelled a cross clean over The Shed in a live telly match and when the camera focused on him he was laughing his heid off.

Added tae that all the self inflicted injuries and apparent lack of respect for the club (latterly).

Supposedly signing to the end of the season.

I hope to fuck he's grown up a bit and has garnered a bit more respect for Dundee United than he had last time after perhaps realising 'the grass isn't always greener'.

As I said above I think he could actually be a very good defender but his attitude was fucking appalling at times last time round.

Over to you Gav.

Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

Completely agree Tek he never appeared to care or be respectful of the club or fans, he could be a good player but his head appears to be full of nonsense 24/7.

If he does sign please please please can he stay fit and not be a cunt again......

Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

Always found I could never take to Ciftci when he was here, too lazy and didn't like his attitude. Know plenty loved him and saw him as a wild card but was never my cup of tea, was always more of a Jon Daly 'team player' man myself hahaha.

Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

The half time shootout at Ibrox in the semi a few years ago was funny as fuck when the Utd fans who scored each did a different Gunning goal celebration when they scored; the roly-poly, the chicken dance and the fleet rule. I liked Gunning, he's no right though.

Too much commotion

Re: What Utd player could you never quite take to?

The only Utd player I ever properly lost the heed at was a lad called Peter fucking Hinds.

Edit to ask- was it only me?

Hinds was poor, he was very tall and it seemed his brain took an age to send the signal to his feet. Edmond Dantes has provided a fine list too, and of course Feeney wasn't too welcome. Darren Patterson and Julian Alsford too were dreadful, and can I add Hasney Aljofree?

Rarely will I slag a player at the game, but I couldn't hold my tongue when he was making an arse of things. Or was that just me too?
