Came across this in my YouTube recommendations just now (thanks Slateford).
Good memories of this tournie as a kid (despite Utd being quite shite in it most of the time).
Anyone ever go to this? Can you imagine it nowadays btw?
Sadly I can't.
Sevco bile towards everyone would probably ensure trouble at even this (family day out).

Used to get held at Coaster, the old Ice Rink,on the road back from the Falkirk Stadium to the town centre. Remember that result, not long after Falkirk had beaten us 4-1 (Baptie hat trick) at Brockville.
I did go to Coasters a couple of times to see the sixes, and remember the old Rangers cheating regarding subbies, having seven on the park (plus the ref) on quite a few occasions. They couldn't even play fair at that.

Went once as a kid, it was a decent enough night. Utd’s team full of internationals were hopeless.

Had moved to England when these were on, used to see the results (no idea where) and wonder how we'd managed to carve out a defeat against Morton or Stirling Albion or whatever

Managed to find another Utd win at the SECC. Beating a pretty decent Motherwell team 6-2.

Been bored and binged old Tennents 6's tonight over a couple of cans.
Utd's best player was consistently Davie Bowman, interesting. Either he was always competitive in every game he played (admirable) or he was a better player than given credit for.
Anyway here is Victor Ferreyra scoring against eventual winners Celtic about 30 seconds in.

Not a Utd clip.
But this is (I think) the first Sixes I remember watching, and I think this would be in Falkirk (Pat?).
Great game and check the celebrations from the crowd when Paul Wright scores the winner for Aberdeen at about the 8 min mark. Mark Reynolds would have been nowhere near this tournament.

Opening game of the tournament and we completely throw away the match against the Huns after leading twice.
Lose the penalties to an Ally McCoist Panenka (yes, you read that right).

Had to look it up: only the first Tennents Sixes, in 1984, were held in Coasters, they then moved to Ingliston, then in 1986 it was the SECC. My memory of being twice was dodgy, the other tournament at Coasters I attended involved local senior and junior teams I think.
The 84 tournament was won by old Rangers, and the only footage I could find showed them getting two penalties early on and Archie explaining the rules were 'very strict'. They weren't when subbies were involved, with the Ibrox Six often being the Ibrox Seven, referees showing a blind eye to that tactic.
United, Dundee, old Rangers and Motherwell got to the semis, with Dundee losing out in the final.
This clip only shows the winners' tournament goals, including the prerequisite amount of penalties:
Sorry.
