Spoke really well.
Loved it when the other guests began trying to make a joke about the demanding Dundee United support and he just cut right in and said that's exactly how he wants it. Players need to know it's not acceptable to go out and lose or even draw certain games when you're at Dundee United.
Not sure if we'll win the league this year but I think our time as a soft touch is definitely coming to an end.

Finally listened to that, thank you Arabnophobia.
Think Robbie was giving political rather than totally honest answers at times, especially when he stated that Scottish referees are good, two or three times.

Not at all shedboy. I'm just being realistic, but have seen United fans, and football fans generally, going from the point of despair to starry eyed all out trust far too often over the years. I'll give you cynical, but not pessimistic.
Just taking the above as an example,do you think Robbie actually considers Scottish referees to be good? Do any of us think they are good?
Same as the story Robbie gave about how his move to the club came about. He cannae really say he was lined up weeks before Csaba was binned, as that would appear as though he stabbed another manager in the back........................... if we can call Csaba a manager.
So cynical and realistic, aye, pessimist, no.

Cynical is a compliment when you get to my age: some construe it as bitterness.
Regarding the referees, that is what I meant about Robbie being 'political rather than totally honest'.
Regarding the other evidence I presented, Robbie being lined up for the job by the club weeks before he was actually appointed, check with Tek: I PM'd him with details in mid-September underlining Robbie was promised the job in August.

Pat it seems to me, at least on first reading, that you've had a pop at Shedboy because he mentioned his sources within the club, yet with the next breath you're kinda boasting about knowing Robbies appointment before it was announced - something you could only have known if you had similar contacts.
Edit Fwiw I think I know who shedboy is and I think he does have the contacts he says he does

Fair enough if you have that opinion, it's a forum after all.
But you've made an assumption that I have contacts at the club, see this:

Finally, sorry if I sound doubtful, it's just my nature.
The information about Robbie came locally to me, not from United. I'm in Stirlingshire. I kept it off the public board for five months, only mentioning it now to illustrate a point about Robbie giving responses which suit the accepted norms.
The point I've already made to shedboy is folk claiming to have 'heard' stuff. Most people probably heard nothing, but read it somewhere. As I've said. it's a product of my cynicism.

Cheers Pat, I'm no youngster myself and also cynical at times. I don't know Shedboy personally but if he is who I think he is then he certainly will have/continues to have some contacts within the club or at least very close to the club.
At the end of the day it matters not a jot, just maybe sometimes we cynics get a bit - cynical - about posters claiming to have heard this, or know that, yet sometimes they actually do.
I was critical of Arab87 several times for predicting the takeover was a done deal- nearly a year before it was - but in the end he got it right just before it was finally announced.
When people post things they know we often accuse them of speculation and being unable to back it up with fact or source, which is fair enough, but you can't come on here and say "xyz person told me this", you have to just say "comes from someone inside the club". Problem being that while you're protecting your source it still leaves you open to criticism from folk who'll then say aye you're guessing, you're billy big baws, so you can't really win.

To be honest i dont really understand this post. What has what Robbie said in the interview got to do with what you heard in Stirlingshire 6/12 months ago. Genuine question.

If you have a source, you never reveal it.

When he took over, he publicly claimed he'd first been in contact with United after Csaba had left. I was using that as an example of Robbie, in fact any manager, trying to give the acceptable answer rather than a factual response.
Oh aye, and PS, I also mention it to illustrate that the information, for me, didin't as you'd alluded to, come from United.

The most disappointing thing for me with these interviews is you rarely hear anything you didn't already know.
There's a few exceptions, Neil Warnock being one I can think of, but mostly these interviews are PR exercises with non invasive questions. ("Are you happy with the new ownership Robbie, bla bla")
Seems to me most of the clubs are terrified of controversy and most of the media outlets are terrified they might lose access to clubs and managers for interviews.

I agree.
I appreciate and crave info on Utd, but don't want things leaked that are real that hinder.
Some tell through excitement at breakin a story, others hud their wheesht for the cause.
I post here because we have less want to be selfish, angry and out of order. Love TT fir that. Probably ain of the maist tolerant fan forums that can disagree without going at eachother like a mad bitch.
💛
FWIW for the first time in many, many years I am not ITK at Tannadice.
I do not know a single player, player's family, management, coaching staff nor coaching staff family.
So you'll get nothing out of me
