Let's no mess about here, he won't try world cup passes but he will give some real dig and isn't scared of a fight

Re: January transfer window

Totally out of left field, but I’m not unhappy with that, just the type of nasty fucker we need in the middle, Fyvie and Stanton let far too much get through them. That won’t be the case with Butcher.

Not too pleased at Aird leaving though, not great at beating a man, but he’s definitely an asset, brings a lot more to the team than McMullan does. Plus QotS aren’t so far away from us in the table that we can be handing out half-decent players to them.

Agree with all of that.

Re: January transfer window

If Butcher was sitting in front of our defence vs Ayr last Friday we wouldnt have lost in my opinion. Absolute dirty bastard so the more the merrier for me.

Re: January transfer window

My memory of him is that McNamara moved him from defence to midfield because he gave away too many free kicks. The blurb on Wikipedia also mentions that Burton were concerned he was picking up too many yellow cards. I was hoping for someone with a bit more quality than him but....certainly no doubting his fighting spirit. But then you could say that about The Edge, Watson and going back a bit Durnan

He has had 17 assists this season... it scares me that we are just letting him go to a team not too far away from us in the league.

Wouldn't go down as a marquee signing but I guess we're more at a two-man tent level.

From what I recall he's very much meh.

Bang on.

Don't agree with this move at all.

He's obviously pissed off the manager. Some say its cos he likes a bet. Some say cos he went out with the rangers team after our defeat to alloa. Ive nae idea what it is but id be pretty annoyed if it was one or both of these reasons. Deffo rather have him than the now departed king or still here mcmullan in the squad.

Re: January transfer window

Wtf is he pushing Aird out the door?

There must be more to it than we know surely?

Tell ya what though, if he pushes Aird out the door (and sends him to Queens at that) then his replacement Pawlett better produce the goods or Neilson will deserve every bit of criticism going for the decision.

Should it play out that way.

Agree. And sending him to a team close to us with a striker who scores for fun is ridiculous.

Re: January transfer window

It's not as simple as saying Aird had 17 assists and without him we wouldn't have scored those goals.

The player that played in his place, might have contributed say 10 assists, but he also might not have been a lazy cunt who never tracked back or gave and cover/help to his fullback, meaning we won a game 1-0 or 2-1 instead of being cut open on his side.

He was absolutely pathetic in his last start.

I bet the the player taking his place isn't getting on supporters buses games to Ibrox either.

Re: January transfer window

I do agree with the Rangers stuff. Although his numbers are good he never looked like he cared massively about the badge. BUT 17 assists shouldnt be sniffed at.

Partly agree. The other way of looking at it is he won't be able to play against us but may help qots take points of other teams round about us. Hoping it would play out like this if I'm honest.

Re: January transfer window

Just to add and this might seem a point that doesn't need to be made, but.......

Neilson's job is to win the league or get us up, he'll have an idea of how he wants to play, what players he has currently at his disposal that will allow him to ply that way, what players he wants rid of and what players he wants in to facilitate his plan.

He sees these guys every day in training, there's no danger he punts Aird and King if he thinks they will be the answer, we're already paying their wages, it would be crazy to ship them our if he thinks they're upto it.

If the boys he brings in don't deliver it's him who gets the sack, his reputation that's in tatters, but these are his decisions, we're paying him to build a squad, let's see where it takes us.

If he fails, so be it, from the final whistle at Livvi last season where Laszlo wasn't sacked it was always heading that way anyway.

Our squad was filled with powderpuff unskilled shite, worst case scenario it's still full of shite.

Weve had players before that have went and watched other teams. Just because they play for us doesnt mean they stop supporting the team support.

I would agree if they were a fan of Celtic, Hibs, Hearts etc but Rangers a different kettle of fish.

Re: January transfer window

I would guess with Aird it's more than just one thing, probably Robbies looked at the ability, the commitment and all round professionalism going forward and decided nah, can do better than that,  see ya later
