It's been on the newsletters since last month.

Well you should. They are full of interesting stuff written by that eloquent wordsmith the communications manager.
I actually don't read them either but was told about the hall of fame. Find his writing quite patronising .

My only question is why has it taken so long? As a Weegie Arab I was at my first United final (League Cup against Aberdeen) in 1980. It was replayed at Dens (I wasn't there). Following season League Cup played at Dens (wasn't there). Then Scottish Cup finals 81, 85, 87, 88 and 90, I attended. In 1994 I was doing my finals down south plus my Grandad (who I went to the games with) was very ill. So it took me from the age of 10 to 42 to actually witness my team winning anything.
Golac had what McLean lacked. A belief we would win. He could visualise it. A great coach and a charming man. I don't suppose Asghar's "collective" includes Golac

To be fair to Macbonzo, he has known Tony Ashgar for a number of years. The rest of us haven't.
To Golac, aye, he won the cup, he also was a key figure in our relegation the following season.

This sums up Golac’s reign for me. He wasn’t a great manager for us but he was just somehow the right man to win that cup. Deserves his hall of fame place for that.

Ashgar must have stolen his play piece a few times in thinking.

Which has nothing to do with Ivan Golac getting in the HOF

Just looking back at this thread, I mentioned Ashgar because you had done so before me. Then I added a wee bit about Ashgar.
I'm hoping that's ok

The thing is, I'm not Macbonzo's mentor, but was just responding to you quoting me....................
To return to Ivan Golac, it's fair enough him getting HoF status, and I'm sure folk will be happy at the induction.

That's a fair point. I went off topic. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have.

I subscribed to them years ago but due to my online habits never seem to read them.
No saying they are bad but I get my fill from Arabzone when it comes down ti a mair direct club influence.
I pay as much attention to it as TT posters opinion if not mair. We have a really good type of Utd fan posting on TT without being wrecked by animosity, usual pished keyboard warriors you get on msist futba fan sites.
Azone is sometimes good, OK or a bit O' a beamer but don't get that some of you only do social media and bin the idea of hearing Utd related stuff when it's only a fiver a month.
I like to know everything DUFC related whether biased fae the club, straight fae the horses mooth as well as fan opinions but I've given up on other forums that are actually relevant due to cliques, bullshit self importance and bickering that drives me to argue or worse.

So?? In context why mention him?
Golac was a shit manager but a great motivator. Also he produced probably the most amazing day of my football life. In and good that he is! 1994 ❣️
It's settled re Ashgar, stop stirring
But back to Golac, great day in 94 certainly, but he motivated us to relegation.
He was hardly Mr Motivator.....................

Golac was a great motivator.
To say he relegated us is harsh imo.
In the January we were scudding Hearts 5-2 and Motherwell 6-1.
It was when Kirkwood came in that everything snowballed pretty damn quickly.
Think he only won one game in the league or something.

Ivan's team was struggling in the league, and had just exited the cup to a poor Hearts team (that we'd put five past as Tek says earlier in the season) when he was sacked.
Who knows what might have happened had he been kept on, but he had us on a downward spiral when he left. We'd lost four in a row, but made the wrong appointment in Kirkwood (maybe we shouldn't mention him in case folk get angry, see Ashgar references on this thread).
Talking of managers, do you get the impression Robbie Neilson is a hard chunt?
