Re: January transfer window

Keepers seen as good tend to peak in performance when well protected.

Oors have had an up n' down time over a while with down and up defensive performances individually and a big defensive player turnover. Protection in front of them hasn't been consistant at all.

Hard to judge but I felt Rakovan was not the man we need, Deniz the Mehmet was coming on and might well have been and Seigrist has a chance still. We might find out better when he has a more solid defence consistantly playing well infront of him well.

Cruel game at the minute. Nae time for liking players much for anything but being solid performers. That's the way it is when you need promoted.

Re: January transfer window

Couple of Raith supporters text me today to laugh at the fact we were signing Laidlaw.  Brutal was the main word used.  Hopefully he’s improved since he was there.

Brutal is better than Rakovan though to be fair.

They might be right. We've had great players that were average after they left us.

We've signed previously great players that were shite for us.

Some players have been awful at all sorts of ages then flipped it.

Timing is very important as well as fitness, mindset, who is supporting them in associated positions, luck and management/coaching.

That is why having some cash to invest and new ideas in recruitment will make or break the new folk in charge.

I suspect benji will remain number 1 and this is more about reducing the wage bill with adequate back up player.

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: January transfer window

Notice Dundee have signed another right back. Wonder what that means for Cammy Kerr?

He was seemingly watching our game v Falkirk from the boxes...

Too much commotion

Re: January transfer window

Been part of two horrendous management teams. Robbie going for the fresh start, which Ellis probably needs also.

This wage saving is earmarked for a coach for the coaches, a guy who will coordinate all the coaching strategy, run presentations for them on Powerpoint, watch other coaches at work and advise on best practice when it comes to coaching. He will also look after the sweepie and lottery kitties and book the Christmas party.

If he does come in then imo either McMullan, Aird or King is away as well as (obviously) Loemba.

Re: January transfer window

The players have a lot of time for Ellis as i understand it.

But i can understand Neilson wanting his own coaches in.

Quality. Are you a coach yourself as you seem to know a lot about it.
