Watched the interview with Mr Ogren

And I am very impressed with him, I have to say.

I see honesty in his eyes and sense a humility about him that has made me instantly warm to the man.

I felt he answered the questions put to him as honestly as he could and didn't attempt to sugar-coat anything. I for one appreciate his honesty in the fact that he wants to seek a profit on his investment, Stephen Thompson was never this honest about his attempt at the same thing and I always felt was very dour and negative about the club. In fact I often felt he seen the club as 'a noose round his neck' and a vehicle that had snatched a chunk of his inheritance. Something I (and others) felt he wished to recoup back from the club latterly via whatever means necessary.

My favourite part of the interview was near the end when Mr Ogren said regards Utd's potential 'We (him and Scott Ogren) just feels there's endless potential'.

This is the way I feel about the club and the way I have wanted a Utd chairman to speak for a very long time now.

Re: Watched the interview with Mr Ogren

Agree I too am happy at what I’m hearing. He knows to be making money we need to be top 6 and pushing for Europe and getting to the latter stages or winning domestic cups. If we can get back to that then I’d happily sell a player or two again for big money to give him some cash back.

Surely being there is better than where we are at the moment!!

We thought the Thompson era would have been a bed or roses as a rich Utd fanatic was going to make us contenders again, however history sadly will show Eddie blew masses of money and his son did everything he could to claw it back leaving us as a shell of a club.

It might go tits up but let’s give these guys a chance before moaning at them for no having the bogs sparkling in the ET stand

Re: Watched the interview with Mr Ogren

It was a very encouraging interview, one of the things I noticed that nobody has touched on is where he was asked about ground-sharing he said he felt the biggest asset that he bought was Tannadice itself, I take it everything is back in United's name except Gussie (at the moment)?

Tannadice is still in utds  name it only had a loan secured against it from Hugh Drummond who is being paid back and is the clubs only remaining debt i believe.

Also they say gussie will be bought within a year i think it was.

Agree mate, comes across as a really genuine and a really decent guy who has clearly been very successful in his previous dealings.  Time will tell if he will be the right guy for us but I for one am positive about him.

We need to put the mind-fuck of the last 4 years behind us now.

Thank Tek, great interview, its very hard not to like our new owner, although some fans will find it hard to break a habit of a lifetime

Loved how he said they arrived just an hour before "game time" and he thinks us fans are excitable.
Brilliant stuff.

Also very revealing that he said he hasn't set a player acquisition budget for January. To me this is saying he will spend what he thinks it's gonna need to achieve objective number 1.
