Re: January transfer window

I'm gonna stick my neck out here and guess that Harkes is a Forrest/Asghar/Ogren signing. Can't see Robbie saying aye this is a player I've been tracking etc! I don't even know how good he is tbh, doubt many of us do

But what I'm not seeing yet is how the line-up will look at the end of the window and what formation we'll be playing.

Also see when Safranko gave his shirt away at full time, that's what players sometimes do on their last game for a club but maybe I'm reading too much into that? Hope so because I think if we played Saf and Clark together we will score a whole lot more goals

Re: January transfer window

Safranko hands his shirt out a lot, also neilson signed perry kitchen for hearts so never know!

Optimistic about this signing and I’m no sure why, time will tell

Re: January transfer window

We've  been fed on a diet of mediocrity for so long it's like we've almost come to accept it.
I'd go with a smaller squad to get far better players, so for example use the wages from M Smith and Robson to sign one great left back.
Use the wages from Rabitch and Barton to get one cracking midfielder. Use the wages from Murdoch and Booth to get a proper good right back. Im not suggesting we should pay exactly double the wage, just suggesting we pay more than what we're paying each of the existing players to get much better quality.

Comes at a risk yes, but this is where Craig Easton has to come up with reserves that can step up when needed due to injury or suspension

Safranko has given his shirt away before. Siegrist also gave his shirt to a fan in the east stand lower.

Re: January transfer window

Window has started decent enough and with clark coming back its almost like a new player (if he stays fit). Hope Harkes can turn out to be decent and not like alot of the shite we have signed with out knowing too much about them (lyng springs to mind from last year).

Sow would be brilliant if we can get him in and atleast jimmy coming back gives us cover cause the middle 2 looked fecked this week. Still think a right back and a nippy winger is a must, someone who will actually drive at the fullbacks and deliver for the big men to finish.

Re: January transfer window

I think we’ll end up with Liam Smith.

We’ll know if he plays this weekend. He certainly won’t play against us next Friday.

Unveiling on the bus back.

Re: January transfer window

Heard Neilson saying that the guys that are surplus to requirement have been asked to train at Gussie. Anyone confirm who that lot are?

Barton, Loemba, Rabbitch are the obvious ones but are there any more?  Robson, Scobbie, The edge, King could also be on the Astro.

Re: January transfer window

Can't see this happening. I'm sure I read that The Rangers refuse to do any business with us.

I wonder how that would work if we had a player they wanted

Re: January transfer window

Injury prone midfielder according to boy at work.

Decent when fit

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: January transfer window

Very injury prone but also a dirty little b45tard which could help us in this league. Even a handful of games could see him have a big impact.

Agreed.  It's good to see them back spreading their bile like when Rangers existed.  Scottish football needs Rangers II.  I think it would be a fantastic gesture of reconciliation to see them pay the wages of our title winning midfielder.  Maybe even their fans might begin to love us again (beyond when we are playing 'them'/'that lot').

Joking apart, I genuinely love that ST riled them that much.  Whilst he nearly killed us too, he did have his moments...

Re: January transfer window

any road, we don’t need more midfielders.

Re: January transfer window

They wouldn't loan a player to us in a million years.

The SEETHE from that lot just by us being linked to one of their players is outstanding though.😀

Re: January transfer window

Reckon it's just more newspaper fantasy to print yet another story which mentions Sevco.

The lad is decent when fit, which is rarely, but he's also a midfielder, with which we are becoming overloaded.

Re: January transfer window

Feb 2015 ankle, missed the season
Oct 2015 hamstring, out til
Dec 2015 same hamstring in return match, missed the season

Aug 2016 calf, eight months out (did his back while out)
Aug 2017, unnamed injury (missed season)

No thanks. Steer clear

Re: January transfer window

If Rangers are paying most of his wages then still might be worth taking a chance if he is genuinely a player.  Not convinced though.
