Yes, you are correct to a point. I'm making a guess.
If he doesn't know them, then a mistruth has been told about due diligence, as a guess as well.
What mistruth about due diligence? While due diligence is legal jargon to ensure no offence is being committed during a transaction, in common terms does that not involve a check on the commercial prospects, assets and costs/liabilites of the company being taken over?
Thus commercial prospects would cover neighbouring competition as an example?
I'd have to look back at the text of his q&a Frank. I believe he said "he didn't know them" or similar. That doesn't mean he was unaware that they owned a competitor and it wouldn't be telling a fib

I am a bit worried about the idea someone thinks they can make money out of United. The club even if run well and for it’s benefit (not taking money out that shouldn’t be) I don’t think is likely to make much money.
That said we have no option but to hope for the best with Ogren. He’s the owner now and we don’t have a lot of power over what he wants to do.
Hopefully he is a true ‘sports fan’ and as desperate as we are to bring true success to United

rms, directly from the official site:
"Do you have any links at all with the owners of Dundee FC?
No, I have never met them, and quite frankly I do not even know who they are."
However, I'm not trying to argue or antagonise here, and it's a minor point whether he knew them or knows them.
Simply, United fans should be conscious of the intentions of Mark Ogren and whoever he appoints to look after his interests, and not put blind faith in their leadership.
To end my contribution for the present, Newport County AFC got a great FA Cup win yesterday. They are a reformation of the original Newport County, which folded in 1989 after being taken over by US businessman Jerry Sherman in 1986. Sherman promised a new ground and European football, but the club fell down the league system and out of business quite rapidly.
Not that I'm suggesting Sherman is in any way similar to Ogren, merely that I hope his intentions are open and honest.

Heard that a Managing Director is being officially appointed this week. Also heard there's been loads of Glaswegian boys mulling about the club in the past week. Would guess that they are from Revolution Sports and there might actually be some sort of movement on things this week.
I suspect one of the Glaswegians is actually from Stirling (Derek Bond). I reckon he is already involved, given his role at Revolution Global Sports. According to his LinkedIn account, he is "working with high net worth individuals, consortiums and funds from across the world who are looking to invest in or acquire European football clubs.
My job is to bring club owners and investors together and facilitate the deal process."
He's one of Ashgar's consultants with RGS, and recently altered his Facebook profile to give himself a more acceptable image. Previously (by that I mean in December 2018), he was one of the 'Going for 55' brigade, with assorted Sevco associated pictures.
A concern is the likes of Ashgar and Bond get into their heads that a merger is the way to make money from a Scottish club like United, both guys from outside the area with little understanding of the emotions involved.
I know of Derek Bond. While he has always very obviously been a supporter of a club looking for title 55 and/or its first one he is a practising Chartered Accountant and am sure will do a good job. He is not stupid and knows how badly Inverness merger went and that cant even do obvious smallish mergers (Falkirk and Stenny and East Stirling and Alloa and Stirling Albion for example or Partick and Clyde or as they would have been done years ago)The worry is what that job could entail.
He will surely have told Ogren there is no short term gain unless we find the Premiership this year and three Andrew Robertson's next and groundshare and build another V&A emperors new clothes carbuncle maybe with some stuff inside to actually see like a proper museum on the site of Tannadice and Dens......
Following this post Tek can I nominate DU Peligro for immediate Tekel Towers LEGEND status? Laughing out loud here!
P.S. DU P. Who's McGregor?

The US has over 300 million citizens and covers an area 40 times the size of the UK, there is absolutely nothing unlikely about the two owners not meeting each other.
It also has businessmen who run multi billion dollar businesses and ones who couldn't run a sweet shop.
You could apply that example to basically "a human being" bought Newport County and mucked up...I fail to see how the owner being an American had anything to do with what happened, you only have to look across the road to see how Dundonians can spectacularly fuck up a club

One thing that is positive about Ogren is that he has apparently paid off the debt - that can only be a positive as well as him backing RN in revamping the squad

To be fair, that's not really my fault.

SMEDUM McGregor is Ross County chairman Roy unless I am mistook. Bankrolls their annual Jan splurge with his £400m or whatever he's earned from Global Energy or oil stuff?
Thanks for the nomination but I don't believe in the honours system So respectfully decline.😎

But if we don't get up this year that will be back up to $1m as soon as you can say FFS United....

When Ogren looked at the accounts for the last few years he'd have seen a recurring theme! Brackets on the bottom line. So he will know exactly what to expect.

The bottom line on some of those accounts was highly positive after 10m plus of transfer fees though.the massive negative built up over years...so he may be delusional.

Brannigan, on paper, has a fair history in football. Sheffield United, derby, hull, Coventry and the Irish lot.
Interesting

Hopefully leads to a good clear out of dead wood behind the scenes including Southern

Toiling to see a link between Ashgar and Brannigan, we'll just have to wait and see.
