Disagree. Deals you think are done have a nasty habit of sudden change.

Have RN put potential targets off with his outburst?

Did he have anyone else lined up to sign last week after the Alloa shambles?

No.
Yes.

Re: January transfer window

RN has put potential new clubs for our unwanted players off, perhaps.

He certainly hasn't done our hopes of offloading players any good, and incoming targets may be blocked or lining up elsewhere as a result of this.

Michael ohalloran without a club, would take in a heart beat

Would be a great signing, he’s absolutely rapid. There’ll be umpteen Premier League sides after himt though, so won’t happen.

Re: January transfer window

Sow not a target.

Gomis might sign, might not. And nothing else happening with any of the other 'targets'.

Jeezo.

Re: January transfer window

I wouldn't expect RN to be too forthcoming in interviews like that. I'm not saying I think a raft of top-notch signings is imminent, but I'm not going to get too depressed at this stage.

Re: January transfer window

At the meeting fed had with Martin and jim fyffe it sounded to me as if there was 3 players ready to sign as soon as window opened. Maybe its just me interpreting it that way but that's what I'd sounded like.

Greg tansey just released... would you take him?

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: January transfer window

Tansey has gone to St Mirren apparently.

I would be happy enough wie Jimmy G btw. Would be an asset in oor midfield. Great song also.

Re: January transfer window

He made it clear he was blasting the fringe players who were not pushing the starting players for their shirt. People are getting over-obsessed with these comments in my opinion. Happens in football all the time and the players he has told can leave will be players not involved anyway.

Yes and I agree but he didnt say that.

Yeah, think we just need to hold our nerve a wee bit. Yes we'd all like to have seen 4/5 in straight away but it's only the 8th.

Re: January transfer window

Would be happy enough with jimmy gomis coming in, could possibly push stanton up to number 10 if none other come in (or if he fancies nesbitt out wide). Tansey would of been a strong signing though, couldnt see a better partnership than him an fyvie in alot of premier league sides imo. Just hope we get it right this time amd dont bring in more duds!

Re: January transfer window

The worst case scenario here is that Robbie has identified his targets but the new sports director guy is in disagreement and proposing different targets, ones that possibly Robbie doesn't want. I really hope that isn't the case.

Re: January transfer window

It's all fine and well saying it's only the 8th, but that means it's 8 days since signings were able to be made, the groundwork should've been going on for weeks/months and a plan in place to allow it to happen regardless of ownership.

Maybe there was, maybe it's changing ?
Pure guess work on my part based on Robbie distancing himself from Gomis and Sow today. No idea, let's see what happens.

Re: January transfer window

For those who are concerned that there's been no signings yet (other than Nesbitt). By 5th January last year, we had already signed Craig Slater, Emil Lyng and Brandon Mason.

That went well...

RN confirms that Nesbitt is a central player - so looked to me no10 and not wide although he roamed free to be honest.  Surely we arent still in for Cammy Smith then?

Or indeed Morgaro but Robbie's talking about him having 'a role in the squad' rather than maybe a regular pick.
Cos two of our best players are centre mids (Fyvie & Stanton lest we forget) so why 3 players (Nesbitt - signed, Smith & Gomis - mentioned) for roughly the same position.
My priority (maybe controversial) is for a top-dog central defender.
And one top class full back.
Promotion will be gained from the back.

Re: January transfer window

I'm not being specific re whether they're attacking/defending/No10/good/bad midfielders, just generally they are all midfielders.
The two other lines, back four & forward line are maybe priority.
