Re: Hey Mr Ogren

I would like to think he will be over this week to appoint the guy Tony Asghar and take in this  weekends home game against Dunfermline?

From now to the window closes what happens is about to determine our season and we need the people running the show to be willing to get deals done to get us out this league.

Re: Hey Mr Ogren

I'm not too sure I want Tony Ashgar appointed in any official capacity, but more of that another time.

What I do go along with is Ogren's reign so far has had a stuttering effect, when fans possibly looked to a difference being made with more urgency.

Robbie said he couldn't wait to get to the January window to change things, but it's been a false dawn so far.

Have you seen Sunderland till I die on netflix? Gives a good insight into transfer windows and the complexity of signing players.

I'm as desperate as anybody to see players come in but a lot of factors that will decide how it happens. Guess it's a balance between getting players in and getting the right players in

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Hey Mr Ogren

Heard that a Managing Director is being officially appointed this week.  Also heard there's been loads of Glaswegian boys mulling about the club in the past week.  Would guess that they are from Revolution Sports and there might actually be some sort of movement on things this week.

Neilson said in the Courier that Ogren is coming over in the middle of the month.  Not sure if that means he'll be here for the Pars game on the 12th or during the following week.

Hope they realise it's revolution we need not evolution....and lots of $ quickly.

I suspect one of the Glaswegians is actually from Stirling (Derek Bond). I reckon he is already involved, given his role at Revolution Global Sports. According to his LinkedIn account, he is "working with high net worth individuals, consortiums and funds from across the world who are looking to invest in or acquire European football clubs.
My job is to bring club owners and investors together and facilitate the deal process."

He's one of Ashgar's consultants with RGS, and recently altered his Facebook profile to give himself a more acceptable image. Previously (by that I mean in December 2018), he was one of the 'Going for 55' brigade, with assorted Sevco associated pictures.

A concern is the likes of Ashgar and Bond get into their heads that a merger is the way to make money from a Scottish club like United, both guys from outside the area with little understanding of the emotions involved.

It's only a problem if Mr Ogren thinks that's the way to make money from us.

And he's flatly denied that that's his motive.

It's all speculation on my part, but Mr Ogren also said he did not know who the US owners of Dundee were.

That's a stretch, is it not, as Ashgar arranged tours for John Nelms to take Dundee to Hungary for summer camp.

Don't think the day to day week to week activities of Asghar would be emailed to Ogren on an hour by hour basis.

It does seem to me that some posters on the various different fan forums are looking for reasons to dislike our Sporting Director and Owner before they've brewed the tea!

Thinking about this a bit more though,  if I was buying a sports club in the US and the company I was liasing with on the sale told me that the other club in the city was owned by Brits, I would ask them for information on that even if it was just out of passing interest. It's all speculation I suppose- he either told the truth and doesn't know anything about them, or does know about them but didn't want to admit it when questioned about it so as not to raise suspicion. But maybe a bit early to consider that he's hiding a bad motive Pat?

I know of Derek Bond. While he has always very obviously been a supporter of a club looking for title 55 and/or its first one he is a practising Chartered Accountant and am sure will do a good job. He is not stupid and knows how badly Inverness merger went and that cant even do obvious smallish mergers (Falkirk and Stenny and East Stirling and Alloa and Stirling Albion for example or Partick and Clyde or as they would have been done years ago)The worry is what that job could entail.

He will surely have told Ogren there is no short term  gain unless we find the Premiership this year and three Andrew Robertson's next and groundshare and build another V&A emperors new clothes carbuncle maybe with some stuff inside to actually see like a proper museum on the site of Tannadice and Dens......

Derek Bond is a hun, but I'd think it would be quite a dent to his reputation to do a club in his care a bad turn.

I've said already, it's all speculation on my part, including the Wyness stuff, but surely it's better to be aware of possible pitfalls. All we have so far are some names, and promises.

havent read this thread Pat - what are you saying - there is evidence of directors or potential directors to DUFC colluding with the scum or just previous business deals??

Previous business deals, certainly. I'd hope the former, which you've put quite dramatically, isn't the case.

On my part only, there is no dislike, but there is always suspicion.

Why lie? It would have been easier, and, to me, less worrying, if he'd told the obvious truth.

Re: Hey Mr Ogren

Bond is a professional accountant regulated by the accounting institute. Not special agent 0055.

And someone in US presumably with Revolution management has authorised apparently 25k for Smith we must be first championship side to actually pay for someone till McGregor goes on his annual spree.

But you don't know he's lying? You're just making a complete guess.

He may know them, he may not.
You're speculating that he's lying

I'm treating Mark Ogren and Revolution Global Sports with a healthy suspicion, DU Peligro

And mind, you do get crooked accountants, I'm sure Derek Bond worked with some at KPMG. And elsewhere too.

Yes, you are correct to a point. I'm making a guess.

If he doesn't know them, then a mistruth has been told about due diligence, as a guess as well.

What mistruth about due diligence?

What mistruth about due diligence?

While due diligence is legal jargon to ensure no offence is being committed during a transaction, in common terms does that not involve a check on the commercial prospects, assets and costs/liabilites of the company being taken over?

Thus commercial prospects would cover neighbouring competition as an example?

Re: Hey Mr Ogren

Would it be too much to expect the fans to judge the new owners on actions before judging them as asset strippers, dodgy agents, and bent hun accountants?

I agree with this 100%

United support is bigger than the City. Most of us would turn our backs on any merger team - I’d go and support the juniors as losing United would make me sick
