We need some impressive signings right fucking NOW!

Even my kids know it and they have an opinion based on only 3 years of watching us and missed only maybe 5 home games between them aged at nursery & early primary school ages.

Nae kidding us or even the bairns anymair. Get us some definate quality players in right fuckin now.

Bang-on that ,actually.

Watched the Ayr 0-5 atrocity with Mrs Tek (who hates football) and even she was commenting that our team were absolutely awful at just the basics i.e passing, controlling, shooting, crossing etc.

If people who know little or nothing of football can see this....well.

We need real players in this team. And we need them now.

We badly need a right back, someone that a threat going forward. I am 41 and I swear I would still beat Murdoch in a sprint.

I am well in my 50s and would back myself against Fyvie or Frans or Aird over 30 yards! We are the slowest team I have ever seen half of them look like they are pulling a trailer

We need Mrs Tek in. Was at a book signing event with John McGovern of great Derby and Forest teams a few years ago.

Their secret was pass ball and then move into space to be available for a pass. Not rocket science. Maybe Nesbitt did that no cunt else did?

Please God get that impostor out. Even if we have to pay 6 months wages.

Re: January transfer window

I’d be ok with Gomis coming in, even if it’s just to let Fyvie rest / heal up / get fit for the next few games (he really needs it).

But not Buaben.

Re: January transfer window

I will say this tho. The Scottish game you get no time on the ball at all. It's as tight as the proverbial. If you've been bad in your last life you come back as a Scottish midfielder. Get the ball here there is a man a foot away from you. And another a yard away. Brings 'closing down' to a new dimension. Watch an English (or European) game live & it's 'after you Claude'. You'd notice the difference, honest.

Most Scottish midfielders get no time on the ball because they don't have the same control and ability as those playing down south.

Folk diving in to a tackle there learn they'll look foolish pretty quickly, up here you have a good chance of disrupting your opponent or even winning the ball.

Nah Pat, you get a wee bit more space elsewhere. The tightness of the game here makes Scottish football different, some would say unique.

I'd be happy enough about that.
Whether at 10 or 9 or 9.5 I'm sure Robbie will get the best out of him.

Space is created not given.

The movement off the ball of players at our level is horrendous as is quite often they’re control.  That’s why they always have players on top of them.  It’s not because in England they say oh fuck it i’ll Just give you 5 yards.

Re: January transfer window

Smith has made 19 appearances for stmirren this season so far so should be ready to go straight into the line up against Dunfermline on Saturday.
Also hearing £25k we are paying for him

Re: January transfer window

Happy enough with Cammy Smith coming back, Robbie will get more out of him I’m sure. Plus better than a few we currently have. The necessary rebuild continues.

People on Twitter kicking off at paying a fee are the same people moaning the club wont sign 'the right players'. He was the champions poty last year. Great signing.

If he was their POTY last year and they are fighting for survival anyone know why they're letting him go?

Agree with Pat here. The lack of technique in your average Div.1 player is the factor that gets them closed down quickly.
Would Hazard ,De Bruyne et al struggle in our league. Their touch control and awareness would make it easy for them.

Because their last two managers have been absolute half-wits. If St Mirren had done what Livingston did and kept the same team as last season (save Adam Hammill instead of Lewis Morgan) they'd be nowhere near The Fun right now.  Instead, they ripped up a successful team and replaced them with shite and has-beens.

Too much commotion

Also think the threat and quality that better teams carry up front is a factor. By that I mean if two players at the top level dive into a tackle in the midfield but fail to win the ball it will then be forward very quickly possibly at the cost of a goal.
Saying that, some teams play a high tempo pressing game, take the risks in doing it and still manage to win.
Agree at our current level a lack of technique gets you closed down very quick

Also heard that Cammy Kerr was sitting in the glass boxes beside the WAGs yesterday.  Was speaking to a mate who sits at the seats beside it in the ET Lower.

Hopefully he was there in a John Terry predatory mission rather than a possible signing target
