Then - Apart from a footballer, which goes without saying - wanted to be a vet. Looking back I only want to be a vet because I liked dogs, didn't occur to me I'd have to work with snakes, lizards, cats etc.
Now - Music festival organiser, session musician or a publican.

Really wanted to be a Historian when I was younger. That or work in a record shop. Proper one though where I got to pick the music that got played.
Now I want to be retired.

I wanted to be a Fireman when i was a wee boy.As i got older it turned oot i have a pretty terrible phobia of heights so,sadly, that one was a non-starter.
As i got older i wanted to be a footballer and then a rock star.Neither of those came to fruition either,i'm sorry to report.
I'm nearly 35 and still haven't worked out what i want to do.Would just like to do something that made me feel fulfilled and happy.

I'm pretty lucky in that I genuinely like my job so I cant really grumble.

There's not many people who can say that tbh.

Would love to be paid more and they've fucked about with my pension but end of day once I get over the initial "Fuck it's Monday" feeling my week goes fairly quickly. Spend a large part of my day having a laugh

Did you like the 'Teachers' comedy that was on Channel 4 about a decade ago btw?
Was no bad like.Had a braw soundtrack.

First few series were good. TBH it was a bit far fetched but bits were not too disimilar. I used to go to the boozer a lot after work when I was in my 20s.
Couldn't do it now at the grand old age of 38.

Aye I like my job as a teacher too, keeps the grey matter occupied. Have had to cope with a huge change in education and consequently a huge additional workload same as HBAF over the last few years. When you push past that the job is pretty good actually. Never wanted to do it when I was younger mind you. No idea what I wanted to do.

Never too late to join the fire service TEK, my last three trainees were 34, 35 and 39 respectively. The pensions have all changed so you can work till your 60 now, hence the reason I now want to be retired. I have been in for almost 17 years and now been told I have the possibility of working another 25 years instead of 13 years.
As for the height phobia, if you can handle going up to a third floor tower on a ladder then you will be fine. Just don't ask for a fire station with line rescue, they do cliff/quarry any heights, pits, wells, turbine rescues etc. There will be only 4 stations like that in Scotland soon, one in the west, just outside Glasgow, one outside Aberdeen, one in Edinburgh and one in Sunny Fife were I am based.
The pay isn't the best, but it's not the worst either, but the job satisfaction and the banter makes up for it.

As a bairn i wanted to be a bus driver but as i grew older i couldn't handle the thought of everybody speaking behind my back.
Dream job now would be a porn star, but at my age it may have it's ups and downs

As a kid- Footballer or a policeman.
Now- Air Marshall, Swat team or MI5/CIA. the thrill would be amazing.

As a bairn: Bus Driver. I used to play on my bike at driving different bus routes around the scheme where I lived. I made the engines sounds n the noise of the pressurised doors n awthing.
Now: Probably what I am doing, the most attractive part of which involves me spending most of my year sitting around daen fuck all, but wi a few bobbies in my pocket. The flip side of that is the 1-2 month stints stuck on a boat. When I am offshore, then I start to think about other career possibilities.
