Kieran Freeman is playing for Scotland 19s tonight as they take on England in the Victory Shield.

Sky Sports 5 at 8pm.

Watch out for this lad.

Re: Kieran Freeman

I don't think he's going anywhere, he's loving life at United and St Johns and knows he'll get a crack at the first team if he continues to progress as he has been.

Re: Kieran Freeman

Really hope so.

Would like to see any talented, hungry youngster that's good enough get 100 first team appearences under their belt as a minimum before moving on.

Re: Kieran Freeman

I was more worried about losing him to Aberdeen than Man Utd based on what I was told but without going into details I believe the lad made it clear he wanted to stay at United.

Re: Kieran Freeman

If he rejects Man U, great.

Re: Kieran Freeman

Playing for Man Utd v Man City tomorrow.

Looks like he won't be our player.

Probably unsurprising,but dissapointing if so.

Re: Kieran Freeman

I think these lads should get the opportunity to develop as players and more importantly as people without the scrutiny of the media tbh

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Re: Kieran Freeman

Fair enough I suppose.

Don't really like the way the papers, The Courier is pretty bad at it, talk up these young lads though. Awful lot of pressure

Re: Kieran Freeman

Has he signed for them or just trial?

Had he not been training with them?

Re: Kieran Freeman

Signing professional terms with Southampton is the word.

Disappointing. Thought he'd maybe break through at us after all after he'd featured in our Development side once or twice last season.

Wonder if we'll receive any type of fee... and if so,how is it calculated?

Re: Kieran Freeman

I dunno what is happening.  I tried to quote TEK and my post didn't appear. Its being reported as a 5 figure development fee that we are getting for him. Good luck to the lad.

Re: Kieran Freeman

fair play to the laddie, must be a fair prospect to have been watched for so long. At least we lost him before having a taste of his ability to have the rug pulled away again.

Re: Kieran Freeman

Development fee is likely minimal. Gutted we might not see him in the big team or prosper much for our benefit  but I suppose its not bad for our image again if he turns out to be good.

Re: Kieran Freeman

Can't blame the boy for wanting to go there.  Wouldn't be surprised if he simply fades of into relative obscurity though and we never hear of him again.

Re: Kieran Freeman

Gareth bale and Walcott for a start...... Didn't shearer come through Southampton too??? Or maybe I'm making that up.

Lad will probably get a big wage in an environment where he could make the big time.

Whether it's best to develop there or a smaller club, time will tell

Good luck to the lad.

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Arguably they have the best Youth Academy in England mate.

Alan Shearer
Theo Walcott
Gareth Bale
Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain

and several others who have all went on to play Premiership football.

He's going to a very good club imo.
