Quote from the united website: Mr Ogren said, "We are delighted to confirm that we have acquired the majority shareholding in Dundee United FC.
"My son and I have been working tirelessly, alongside our sports advisors Revolution Global Sports Consulting and lawyers Brodies, to reach an agreement with Mike Martin and Jimmy Fyffe who have been careful in making sure that the best persons come into the Club.
"We are very excited at working with the Head Coach, the players, the staff and most importantly the supporters of Dundee United to achieve promotion back to the Ladbrokes Premiership and make Dundee United Football Club a force within scottish football once again.
"This is a crucial period for the Club, and we understand that the short-term focus must remain on ensuring the team continue their good form. It is our intention now to lay foundations that will create future success for the Club, and to this end, we look forward to coming to Tannadice to outline our plan and create one vision for success that everyone connected with Dundee United can believe in."

Keith Wyness.
I've a feeling he could be part of the new deal. Anyone else got thoughts on this?

Only saw that later to be honest. In itself a link to United would be tenuous
It's only guesswork, but the speculation is based on the following:
Keith Wyness is from Aberdeen, has been CEO of Aberdeen FC, Everton and most recently Aston Villa. He had an acrimonious fall out there and was reported to be suing the club. Wyness appears to be doing work presently for the sports advisers mentioned by Mark Ogren.
Mark Ogren said: “We are delighted to confirm that we have acquired the majority shareholding in Dundee United FC.
“My son and I have been working tirelessly, alongside our sports advisers Revolution Global Sports Consulting….”
Revolution Global Sports Consulting: set up in 2015, it has two directors, one of which is Tony Ashgar, who is a football agent.
Tony Ashgar is also a director of KT 2018 Limited.
KT 2018 Limited was incorporated on 23rd November 2018, just 26 days ago.
Alongside Tony Ashgar, there is only one director: Keith Wyness.

Did Martin say at the end of this clip "when you talk to him tonight" to the journalists?

its great news to wake up to, dont know anything about the new owner other than the little bit of research i've done online. No idea on net worth. Sold about 13 convenience stores over here for about 5 million US dollars in September... no clue what endeavors he has beyond that. He'll not be a white knight or have that sort of cash but should bring some new/fresh ideas.
The baseball team he owned is in the Independent leagues over here which are below the A, AA, AAA then MLB standards. Wont have made much off that if anything.
The junior hockey team he is invested in, basically a feeder league to the NHL are much bigger potatoes but have no idea how big his involvement is there. Encouragingly though, both teams pretty successful.
Hard to think this is anything worse than what we have, can only be happy about this.

At last we have now seen the back of Mike Martin.
I dont expect this guy and his son to splash millions of pounds on our club and get nothing in return. I would like to see money made available next month to bring in the 5 players we need and get rid of some shite that we have got.
We know very little about their plans for DUFC, We are yet to here any sort of interview from them on what their intentions are for us.
I hope and i am expecting a lengthy video interview to be released very soon by them with details of what they have planned. I did expect them to be at Tannadice today to be unveiled however that doesn't look like it has happened.
I hope to fuck this works out.

Correct me if the law has changed but my understanding is that if they were to spend more than 90 days per year in the UK, theyd have to declare earnings made outside of the UK for that calendar year for taxation. Might be wrong but I know it's something close to that.

He's coming across in January and his son supports Newcastle United. The interview says they love soccer and always wanted to own a Soccer club to run.
In the interview he states that he looked at a few clubs to own.

Looking forward to cheerleaders, hotdogs from venders walking the stairs and marching bands at half time.
If he can get the dog shit outside the ground sorted out then maybe the pre-match walk up could improve too

Good find. Good article, you have to hope this isn't about giving his son a new toy. I can't remember a period in my lifetime when we were owned by anyone other than fans of the club so hopefully he and Scott are falling in love with the club. We need them to.
Loved the description "coastal college city " by the way.
Interesting that he mentioned the synergy with his roots and United's origins.

1st impression on why they have bought us is a wee bit of apprehensive relief. We are right to worry and be suspicious.
Seems like we are a cautious step up in a sporting craving in size and hopefully ambition. Previous ventures have not been asset stripping or for financial gain it seems and have worked out fine for all parties.
They are impressed with the passion I think and potential but will need to do very well in the transfer market 1st attempt to be accepted/appreciated and off to a good 1st opinion from the support.

Will David Southern after all these years now be more involved in running the club? or will it be Jim Fyffe?
There is a few questions needing answered regarding it all.
What i hope is we can now move forward with the new owners and hopefully come May we are on our way back to premier league football.
It would appear they are coming over in Jan and will be here to help Robbie get the new players he wants.

Great stuff. He fkn hates Dundee.
But appears to have giant penguin stuck to his head?

I wouldn’t be against Gomis coming in. We need a #10 type.
Could Gomis sit with Fyvie, letting Stanton push up?

As good as Gomis was 1st time round he was bad 2nd time round.

Gomis is better than any midfielder we currently have. Yes he’s not now the player we had first time round, but still better than what we have. I’d take him, but only after the other areas needing sorted were done first.

His season has just recently ended in Oman i have read.
So i think he would be fit and ready to go if we made a move for him. Or is he just using the facilities like Dixon was ?
