Saturday 10th December 1988
Dundee United 4 (French, Mitchell o.g. ,McKinlay, Gallacher)
Hibs 1 (Archibald)
This was a very succesful December for DUFC that included a 1-0 away success at Ibrox on Sat 3rd (Beaumont), aforementioned 4-1 win v Hibs on Sat 10th, 2-0 home win v Celtic on Sat 17th and rounded off by a 1-0 away win at Love Street on Hogmanay 1988.
Infact Utd hadn't lost since October (versus Dinamo Bucharest) and wouldn't lose again till a shock 4-1 reversal versus St.Mirren at home in mid March.
5 months undefeated.

Most surprising result is the win at love st, we had a shocking record there in the 80s
