Great interview here with AR.
Shocking, though not surprising to hear that Thompson forced him out of the club. Didn’t want to leave, and was gonna go down and say no thanks to Hull, but Thompson telt him he was going and that was it.
We’ve known it for years, but it’s fucking horrible the way that man single-handedly tore apart what potentially could’ve been the greatest non-OF team in Scotland since the 80’s.

A complete cunt of a man.
Sold the club and it's supporters down the river and we are only now finally showing slight signs of recovery.
Baby steps though.

We were never gonna keep all that talent for long, I think we all know that, but it should always have been them pushing to leave and the club trying everything to keep them. The fact it was the other way about (and not just with AR) is a fucken disgrace.

I was told different re Andy. While he never pushed for a move he was happy to go.
That was from a couple of prominent board members. Interesting to hear andy say that. Proves what i said all along about thompson being a liar

Bet he's glad that he was forced to go now though.

Was obvious what was going on when we caved in to the first big money on offer. Should have held for a year could mibbe got 4-5 million. He was aready capped and getting rave reviews

How much of a contract did he have? Guessing he was half way through a 2 year deal? If he wasn't signing he was walking for free or a pittance?

tbh think we could have got more regardless of the length of contract but its possible he would have extended on better terms if the club said they would help him get his move south in that next 12 months. (did we ask him) No facts here to back it up but the club should have been trying to get other parties interested by incentivising Andys agent to get other EPL clubs interested in him by letting them know he was in play with a bid from Hull. Maybe we'll never know.

Players are always going to say they didn't want to go after the fact. Our model at that point (for right or wrong) was a selling young talent one. On paper that was the right one at the time and therefore we were always going to sell. It is also very easy with hindsight to say we should have got more but we got what we thought was fair at the time and also got a sell on uplift so I for one don't point to that one as a mistake.
