Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

Tonight showed just what an influence Fyvie has on the team.   Rabitsch just doesn't have it.
Good 3pts though as Alloa are a decent part time team with some good footballers, another excellent free kick from the boy who scored at the indodrill
Stanton MOM for me

Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

Decent first half. Poor 2nd half imo. No creativity in the middle of the park. Mcmullan isnt a winger. Better behind safranko but will he play there now after changing formation. I think away from home mcmullan behind safranko. At home deffo Clark up top with the big man and maybe a.n other on opposite wing to aird.

Clark was decent tonight first half especially.

Massive shout out to Edge tonight. That tackle at 3-2 was outstanding. As good and as big as a goal at the other end.

Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

hopefully Fyvie was left out tonight with next friday in mind and not wanting to risk him rather than the injury being worse than thought.

Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

I know this is a cliche that gets thrown about a lot, but in this case it’s 100% true; I’ve seen boys in the juniors better than that Rabitsch, lots of them. He’s as poor a footballer as you’re likely to come across, like a fan’s won a competition or something.

Must have the same agent as Emil Lyng.

Thought that was going to be a pen from the camera side view.  Did he get ball first? Couldnt tell

Good overall in the first, poor second half. However what a feking turnaround under Robbie, superb results and, in the main, good performances.

Edge outstanding , MOTM for me. Fraser Aird is a player and well done, it has to be said, to Curran for a great strike and cool head for the fourth.

Looking forward to the Ayr game. Big game for us.

Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

The goals lost: don't know if Benji Siegrist has ever been close to any of the penalties he's faced, but I knew he'd let that in.

But worse, the free kick goal, I knew he'd let any shot on his right side in too, due to his position. For me, it was at the best height possible for a keeper too, but happy to be proven wrong.

Overall, pleased to win, but we weren't too convincing, especially in the second half, and a few injuries could hit us badly, especially in key positions.

From what I have seen so far, I don't rate Siegrist (or Rakovan) one bit.

Mehmet got injured in what? April? nearly 8 months ago. Cannae be far away now, hopefully.

Seemingly 3-4 weeks ahead of schedule. I guess back after the Xmas schedule? From the highlights, Siegrist looked decent against County and more importantly, Neilsen was talking him up. Last four games only conceded 2---I'll take that. Chopping and changing keepers is a potential nightmare--unless of course the keeper is playing pish. I'd stick with Siegrist until(hopefully not) he has a 'mare.

Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

just watched the goals on arabzone

Safranko great fighting to get the corner that he scores the header with

Siegrist should have done better at the free kick goal imo.

Curran takes his goal very well.

Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

Good 1st half, 2nd half quite poor but as has been said - under Shabba we'd have not won that game.

Edge was immense, just shows you what a manager who can actually coach players on the training pitch can do to a players confidence.  Agree that McMullan is wasted out wide.

County have the Pars at home on Saturday so they will no doubt win that an jump back above us.  Just got to keep churning out the wins and not worry about others though.

Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

Think we were the better team the 1st half. Don't know if it was a Pen or not for Aloha, but think Watson shoulda cleared it anyway.  Great comeback, a wee cafuffle in the box and in it goes.  Thanks to the Ref for making us retake the corner. Again no sure if McMullan was fouled, but no complaining. Personally thought that Siegrist shoulda got a hand to the free-kick, but like the Pens, have to wait and see highlights.

2nd half was a bit nervy, was it no. Dinna ken if it was the players nerves or being complacent, but it could be that Aloha just got a bit more grit. Our passing was slack, even poor at times, with the midfield struggling. Ye could see that with the back-passing starting to creep in.

Sorry to have to say this but having Rabbit on the field is like playing we 10 men. MOTM for me General Safranco.

I was shitting myself, the ref could easily have pointed to the spot.
Would have been 3-3 at that point.

Btw hands off Rabitsch. Difficult in the fans' eyes filling in for Fyvie, he had a couple of bad moments but overall didn't have too bad a game. I detect a we-need-a-fall-guy moment coming on, seems some fans must always have one in the locker.

Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

While Rabitsch doesn't appear to do much right, when Murdoch came on for him I thought we were poorer last night. Does he do a lot of unseen stuff, covering space and stopping the opportunities for the opposition to move or pass forward?

I'm unsure. But I think we need someone who contributes much more in that area, if Fyvie or Stanton aren't available.

Re: Utd v Alloa - Tuesday 20th November (7.45pm)

Central midfield is the only area where we don't have any cover. If Fyvie or Stanton are unavailable the performance level of the team will suffer. RNs number 1 priority in January.

Yeah my initial thought was he was about to sythe him down and even when tackle went in I thought it was a pen but I had a bad angle and even the lad that was through never complained so must have been some tackle!
