No doubt we’ll be in a few, prob away games 100 miles away.

I know I will probably sound like an old man harking back to the “good old days” but I really can’t stand what TV has done to football.

Personally I have always blamed the Bosman ruling and the Taylor report, but TV certainly hasn't helped either.
In truth I think fitness has done more harm to football then any of these, but they are certainly all major factors in the destruction of United as a major force in football.

Friday night games are great, if you win.

It's been a mixture of things, but it's generally been money that's ruined football. The Taylor Report was a specific issue that football should have sorted from the increased TV revenues. TV has to take the largest chunk of the blame, then Bosman and players. However, in relation to the latter, I think players should be entitled to their cut of the money that football makes at the top end. That said I think there should be a wage cap for players (and a maximum squad size for teams) as long as the additional money saved found its way further down the chain and not in fat cat owners pockets. The wage cap should be high (say £75K a week, rather than the £300k the top players are getting) and the squad cap should also be high but avoid the Chelsea model where more young players are on loan than in their own squad.
What's wrong with football is the failure to share the spoils of TV more fairly. Even the latest Nations League competition has the Finals winner taking over 10m euro, if Scotland win their group they only get 2.25m euro. To aid the sport's development the purse should be split evenly across all 55 teams with perhaps a small incentive for the 4 teams that have made the finals.

I don't mind Friday games.
Better than Sunday at noon.

I don't mind the odd game being moved to a Friday night or any other night for that matter, I was really meaning the way that TV has taken over the way people view games. Particularly in Scotland there seems to be a whole generation of fans who would rather sit and watch a game on TV rather than go to a game.
Personally I have not had a subscription to anything like Sky/BT since the mid-90s now. As I get older the only football I want to see is United, not interested in watching any other games now. Waste o' money!

That's why they're good though.

A quick post about games being switched. Most of the BBC money given for the Championship teams to appear on Friday nights is, I think, going to be split between Premiership clubs. Cannae mind the detail, but will look it out (unless someone else can confirm).

Is the Ayr game on Friday on BBC Alba??
My mistake it’s a week on Friday.

Yes, it is.
The games from January are apparently on a new BBC Channel.
So i'm thinking, the commentary might be in english now?

Yes they do seem to be getting the lions share. I think their(spfl) argument is that championship clubs get share of premiership tv money.
