A few of the Dallas Tornado players are in the black and white photo above, if that's a help. But the photo is from 10 years later or so.
Big Ron Yates beside Doug Smith. The goalie is Ally Donaldson right enough. He let in five goals scored by Dodds, Payne, Wallace, and two from Kirkwood. Doug Smith's Select (for it was his testimonial) scored four through Finn Dossing, Bobby Lennox, Dennis Gillespie and the obligatory Doug Smith penalty.
I think that's Shakin' Stevens in the front row next to Andy Rolland.

Is it Bobby Gould?
I think it's Ron Yeats

It's Lex Richardson.

Nobody's mentioned Denis Gillespie or Jimmy Briggs yet

Ron Yeats, of course. He was before my time. Bizarre we both thought Trevor Brooking, Tek. Totally different build.
Love seeing photos like that.
Good to see the Tornados photos too.
Without my old man being mates with Finn Seemann I'd be a dark blue! He still dines out on his mate scoring a pen at the Nou Camp.

Probably Dundee locals will have seen this, but it was new to me. It's from 91 years ago:

Got this picture someplace, but canna mind whar, but I'm gonna try to name abody in it. Got to admit to a wee bit oe cheatin tho, coz 2 oe the players in it (probably the hardest twa were pals oe my old man).
Back,
Jimmy Littlejohn (Chaiman), Andy Dickson (Trainer), Jackie Graham(10), Jim Moore(11) -pal oe my old man, Walter Smith(12), Mogens Berg(13), Finn Dossing(14), Ian Scott(15), Don McKay(16), the great Jerry Kerr
Front,
Sandy Davie(1), Tommy Millar(2), Jim Cameron(3), Tommy Neilson(4), Doug Smith(5), Gerry Hernon(6) -pal oe my old man, Finn Seemann(7), Dennis Gillespie(8), and the No. (9) needs no introduction.
As I sayed, Jim Moore and Gerry Hernon were pals oe my old man, so met them a couple a times. They were mainly reserve players IIRC, Jim Moore went to Cowdenbeath I think and Gerry Hernon went to Stranraer.
Have seen this photo many times but didn't know every player in it. Thanks for filling in the blanks Mr Hainey.
How cool is that shirt by the way? I doubt any of the players there kept one but how cool would it be if one turned up somewhere. The first time we wore tangerine.
Those Tornado strips were used again the following year by the looks of things:

That Davie Bowman photo: do you think the referee would have a word with him for that today?

Hard to find much detail, pics or footage of our time playing as Dallas Tornado but found a few things as the whole thing intrigues me the more I find out.
We played 1st, missed a mad World Tour next as they put their own team together, then played as Tornado again.
The inbetween bit saw us dodge a terror attack at the hands of Greek-Cypriot terrorists, visit Vietnam whilst war raged around them, and survive an on-pitch riot in Singapore.
The 1st time round I can't find footage of us yet but found the Final of the tournament which was played between WASHINGTON WHIPS VS LOS ANGELES WOLVES which was ABERDEEN V WOLVES.
PLEASE take the time to watch these highlights even though it doesn't involve us as the match gives a flavour of the times of fitba closer to home and has EVERYFUKINGTHING you want in a game.
We lost to Wolves and then beat them the 2nd time we played them as DT the 2nd time we travelled to the USA.
Can't find pics yet of what we played in 2nd time but might be this...
Next Tangerine influenced DT shirt I find was this fae 78'...
This ain ^^^can still be bought.

A momentous day in Scottish Football History. The 'Family Final. Widely regarded as the best ever Scottish Cup Final and even though we lost and it was so painful it is hard to disagree with that. It was an incredible match and spectacle.
A day tinged with sadness for Jim and Tommy though as their Father passed away just a day or 2 before the Final.

Another Pre-Cup Final pic. Another 2 ex-United Managers.
Another Hampden defeat for Utd. But if we were to lose a game then we couldn't lose it to a nicer guy than Alex Smith who not only was a Gentleman but was a very underated Manager imo. Just inherited a mess at Utd and didn't have the time to fix it, sadly. Wee Jim also interfered too much latterly.

"That's a good play by the goalkeeper."
Players were a bit rough in that game. Lots of goalmouth action right enough.~A Second Look"
I can see why Los Angeles Wolves, represented by Wolves, were called that.
But the Washington Whips? Warped Aberdeen Perverts.

Big match shiteing out started afore I thought wi the Sheep.
Some game though, all out attack. Loads of aggression too. Watched it 5 times already.
Ken the Yanks were giving it verbal USA style promoting diarrhea but what a match.
Like that we beat them 2nd attempt as previous champs but wish I could find some video footage of us in these tournaments bud. Maybe someone can.
