1/3rd through the season

After today that is us exactly 1/3rdth through the season already. i.e. played 12 of 36 matches.

Top Scorers - Ayr/Ross County (24)
Most wins - Ayr (9)
Highest Goal difference - Ross County (+16)
Worst Goal difference - Falkirk (-14)
Least defeats - ICT (0)
Most defeats - Falkirk - (10)
Most Goals conceded - Partick (23)

Utd's Stats -

Wins - 6
Draws - 3
Losses - 3
For - 19
Against - 16

I shudder to think what our stats would be if Laszlo was still here.

Need to keep our foot on the metal now and keep chalking up wins/draws. Get really hard to beat.

24 matches in I want Utd to be all over those stats (in a good way).

Re: 1/3rd through the season

We’re going to need roughly 60 more points to win the league. There’s very little room for error now.  Simply we have to keep winning, especially against those above us.

If we stay relatively injury free it’s possible

Re: 1/3rd through the season

ATM  I feels the most confident I have felt in the time we have spent it the championship, the defence is solid, Fyfie and Stanton look like they have a good understanding / partnership building, Aird IMO is just about as good a winger a club of our size and predicament can expect to have, McMullen is showing a bit of form that made us think he was a good signing and Safranko is the best target man we've had since Jon Daly, If we can keep the starting eleven fit and get  Clark match fit we will be going up as champions.

Neilson was available in the summer, Mike Martin must be shaking his head at himself.

Re: 1/3rd through the season

Yeh over the next 12 games we will have a far better indication of how things look.
Next week is a massive game especially with them only getting 2 points out the last 6 available has allowed us to get closer to county. We need to continue getting as many points as possible.

Maybe 10 less than that TS, 50 more points could be enough cos of the league being so tight, nobody's going to run away with it nor is anyone going to be cast adrift at the bottom like Brechin last season. Your 60 points more = 81 would win the league by a short distance. I'm going for an average of 2 points a game from now which would give us 69 which could be a very good position to be in.
Anyway one game at a time & all that. It's going to be a very interesting.

Yes it may be less, it may also be more.  I’m pretty certain 69 won’t be enough to win the league tho.  The point really is we need to keep on winning consistently.

Re: 1/3rd through the season

69 won't be enough.
It may need to start with an "8" which will be an extremely tall order for us from 21 points thus far.  Realistically we won't add 60 but if we could add 55 that may well be good enough.  That's 17 wins and 4 draws and 3 losses against an average run rate suggesting 12 wins and 6 draws and 6 losses.
Have we improved enough to turn 5 draws into wins and 3 losses into draws?  Put like that you would think yes for the latter maybe not the former.
