Re: Neilson appointed

Got a good feeling about this one.

Sounds like he’s got the man-management skills and eye for detail we need to get out this division. Only question is, does he have the players?

Re: Neilson appointed

Not sure about him yet but I'll be giving him my support.

Welcome back.

Re: Neilson appointed

He needs support from the stands. You cant polish a turd.  However it will be the end of players telling the manager to f##k off during the game.

Re: Neilson appointed

I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my chest, this is fabulous news. Our season starts tomorrow. I was so afraid we weren't getting him. Full credit to the Board, there must have been conditions attached, financial & other. We must back this, big away support at Firhill and then 7,000 for the ICT game. Love United.

Re: Neilson appointed

A steady appointment in my view and someone who is capable of leading us out of this league this season.

For our aim to be achieved though he will need backing and the board due to their gross negligence in the summer by continuing to back the wrong guy, much to the amazement of the fans and the press alike must find the funds to help Neilson.

We need to all unite and get behind the new manager and the players who will hopefully improve now that they have a manager/coach in place.

I'm giving the board absolutely no credit at all, they buried their heads in the sands for far too long, hence the reason our season starts tomorrow 9th October and not in The summer like everyone else in our division.

The board have been wreck less and THEY need to back and get behind Neilson.

Re: Neilson appointed

I think I'm happy with this.  Time will tell.  I'm not so sure he has the horses in the stable at the moment, we'll see.  Have to give him our full backing.

No credit due for not choosing the cheap option even...?
And there was talk of losing him to Partick but we didn't. No credit there either?
Allowing him to bring in his nominated assistant?
Keeping LE (if they are)?
Can afford to be a little charitable, no?

Re: Neilson appointed

Think this is the first time we have appointed a full-time Dundee United Manager who is younger than me.

I've reached that point.

Re: Neilson appointed

He is certainly talking a good game, its all about winning football matches. He talks about getting the fans backing, Im in but then I was never out.
Hopefully he is a manager who leaves to go on to better things and not the now tradional P45
