Neither were offside, shocker

Yeah, as poor as we were it was a ridiculous decision which probably cost us 3 points.

The move for the offside goal was fantastic. Every bit as good as Celtics winner yesterday.

Too much commotion

Here's Csaba doing what he spent much of the match doing on Saturday: not watching.

But appearances can be deceptive, for it also looks like Barton is running in this still picture.

But Barton says in the paper that Alloa’s a much harder place to go and win than us fans think.  Only problem is it just seems to be that way for us against these sides, other clubs seem to manage fine.

Ross County and Morton have already beaten then two-nil in Alloa this season, so that argument (on Barton's part) is redundant.

Just got round to watching the highlights (been a busy old week ).

Few comments to make.

Alloa's tv hightlights are better than ours both in terms of cameras, graphics and commentary.

It looked like Loemba might be level for the dissalowed 'goal' but it's hard to tell 100%. I've watched it back about 5 times and can't say with any real certainty. I suppose you have to go with the linesman's call on that one. Definitely a close one though.

We are terrible to watch. So slow, so pedestrian, so predictable. Only seem a threat from set-pieces.

Alloa should have had a penalty for Frederic Frans handball in our box.

Both Curran and Murdoch were lucky not to be sent off for 2nd yellow cards.

Paul Watson looks like not only being actually a good signing but a very important player for us. Could have had a hat-trick.

Booth has to be starting at left back also, I’m fucking sick fed up of watching robson get to the byline and either balloon it over the bar or right in to the goalies hands, why on earth he is working on that I’ll never know. Seek fed up of watching Murdoch also, why we’ve never signed a proper right back in the last 2 seasons I’ll never no, Barton and rabitsch are hopeless miss Stanton so so much with his runs from midfield, loemba I’m still very unsure about him

You're ahead of me Pat, haven't got round to watching Zone highlights (misnomer). I was seated in the canopy near where the offside was given and thought players were ok but my young lad immediately said they were offside so probably a close decision. Our play is indeed dreadful to watch and if we don't change, we wont win the League and we'll fail again in the play-offs if in fact we make them. I was not opposed to our signing of Watson. It was hard to judge his defensive qualities in games against us as we never really tested him but he was quite forceful at attacking set plays which we have sort of benefitted from. I say sort of as Watson goals might be papering over our very large cracks and delaying the much needed change of manager Disappointed with Loemba and Barton - on this day both were a waste of a jersey and in response to another thread - no we are not any better than last or previous seasons. If we are this bad now, just wait until the usual post Xmas meltdown hits us

Re: Alloa v Dundee Utd 01/09/18

Annan, you say our play is 'dreadful to watch'.
What team have you seen against us this season that is anything different? Who are NOT dreadful to watch?
The World Cup was dreadful to watch. Every team plays the same way. You have possession at the back & you try not to lose the ball as you eventually move forward and look to make that incisive/adventurous pass.
If we are dreadful to watch then so were Alloa, Partick Thistle & St Johnstone U/20s who have been our last three opponents. The Fun are seething too btw.
All playing the same way, there's no room, no open space, there's two defenders to every attacker, not bonny but that's how it is.
The Fun are seething too btw. And Sevco were dreadful to watch on Sunday.

I accept that other teams too are dreadful to watch and I'm finding myself less interested in football as a result. However, until Jackie came, we never played this non attacking type of football and watching football without goals and goalmouth incidents, is not very attractive, and not only that, since we started playing this way, we have had the most unsuccessful time in my 55 years of watching.  I don't think that our poor man's karaoke version of tippy tappy is the only game in town, hence my opposition to it for my team. Its not working for us so why do we persist.
