Thought we looked alot better at the back today. Poor from keeper for the thistle goal
Think loemba should have been subbed early 2nd half.
Rabbit should have scored first half. Also bartons effort first half he should have done alot better.
3 points in the bag happy with that.

Competent display but not sparkling. Was quite impressed that we didn’t crumble in the second half and got the second goal that we needed especially at thistle we’re putting some pressure on. Good result but not 100% convinced as yet.

As a good few have said we were not that impressive. We should remember this was one of the games this season we had a higher chance of loosing.
Edit to say...
We took an early as fuck lead and held on to it.
Attacking play was effected by that and a lack of pushing up but more by a lack of creativity.
Aird, Loemba and strikers will do better with a good creative attacking minded midfielder. Mind how different we looked with and without Fraser?

Fair assessment and I agree, I’m still wary after the past few seasons
But in fairness to laszlo and the team, we have been desperate for competent performances for a while, so it’s good to see one.
Hopefully build on this in terms of consistency as competent performances will see you out this league if you have enough.
I don’t think livi sparkles at any point last season!

First time I’d seen us since the Betfred cup fiasco, and I was reasonably impressed with what I saw. Never felt we were under any real threat of surrendering the lead, though we do still have this awful habit of trying to defend a 1-0 lead with 60 minutes of sideways passing, we need to start taking the game by the throat and pushing to increase our lead instead of defending it. That’ll come with victories though, it’s nothing more than a confidence thing and in all honesty the fans could do more to help in this regard by not getting so fucking agitated at them all the time.
The most pleasing thing for me was seeing that a lot the players that were brought in last season are a clear improvement on what we had last season.
Keeper’s night and day compared to Lewis last season, always talking to the defender, and they seem a lot less nervous with him behind them. Made the mistake at their goal by trying to save rather than punch, as long as he doesn’t make a habit out of it, it’s no problem.
Too early to tell on the centre halves, but they won everything in the air, and never really seemed under pressure, whether that’s down to opposition, we’ll find out in games to come. Would still like another one in if we can ship out Scobbie and Edge.
Looking forward to Booth getting up to full fitness as Robson was fucking pish as per. The little threat that Thistle posed all came from his side and his complete inability to block the cross. Should never have been handed a new deal, and should now be playing at his own level; Brechin, Montrose, possibly even junior level.
Midfield was all right, Rabitsch works hard, and has maybe been written off too soon. Barton’s a bit casual for my liking, but definitely has ability. Would still like someone a bit more forward thinking to partner Fyvie once he’s back. Though we can’t put too much pressure on Fyvie immediately turning us into runaway leaders, it’ll take him months to get fully up to speed and gain confidence in his recently repaired knee, we might have to leave him out on the plastic pitches of the league, better to have him out for 3/4 games a season rather than 30.
Aird’s a big improvement on what we had last season, he runs at players, rather than away from them, works hard and actually has an end product.
Loemba’s a maverick, and will have games where it comes off for him, and games where it doesn’t, similar to the likes of Ciftci and Mackay-Steven. At least he has the bravery to try it, for this, the fans need to cut him a bit of slack for games when it doesn’t come off, we need someone that’s unpredictable, and we should encourage that confidence in him, rather than knocking it out of him when he’s not on his game. He’s a potential match winner and give him his due, he doesn’t hide when things aren’t coming off for him. Good to see him engaging with the support on twitter and after games too, seems to genuinely appreciate and revel in the love he’s getting, hope fans on Twitter don’t start acting a cunt with him when we go through a sticky patch.
Safranko’s the type of striker we’ve needed since Ciftci left, maybe even Daly. Works hard, relishes the battle with his defender, holds the ball up and links play well, looks decent in the air and doesn’t fall on his arse with his hands in the air looking for fouls when he loses a 50/50.
Sometimes you just ken with players, I knew Anier was shite the first time I saw him, I knew Mikkelsen was shite the first time I saw him, abody knew Lyng was shite the first time they saw him. This boy though, is a proper player, and will be key to our promotion chances, hopefully the other strikers we have are good enough to take advantage of the chances he’ll create for us. If we’d signed him instead of Mikkelsen to partner Murray back in our first season down here, we’d have had beaten Hamilton over two legs.
Excellent post JD.
The only issue I would take up with you is Robson, I don't write him off. He's not 21 yet, he's work in progress, reminds me a bit of Barry Douglas who wasn't rated much at the time either but has since done ok.
Insightful opinions you make though & I pretty much agree with all of them apart from above.
Oh, and Anier wasn't shite.

Don’t see it in Robson I’m afraid, Smed, if asked, I couldn’t pick out one single positive attribute the boy has. Douglas always had decent delivery on him and was good at set pieces. His biggest problem at United I always felt was his self-belief and that he was prone to the odd brainfart defensively. The latter, I think still plagues him now, and is probably why he’s isn’t playing in the Premier League with Wolves. Give him his due though, he’s went on to do way more with his career than I ever expected of him, and should be commended for it. Maybe not a coincidence that like Wolves, Leeds look nailed on to get promoted this season.

He fell out with the wolves manager seemingly.
Leeds look good due to new manager. Not a lot of personnel changes but managers came in and completely overhauled the club.
