Fucking right i am. Not great 2nd half lets be honest for 30 minutes but fantastic result!!

Same, but the score totally flattered us against a poor side. Not convinced.

Canna please some, anyway, finally finally wee look like having a proper striker in safranko, murdoch was decent frans and Watson comfortable, robson will be replaced by booth 100%, Rabitsch who I’ve been very critical of I thought was actually ok today got stuck in, aird unbelievable delivery for first goal, Curran works very hard not a winger though, must build on this now
Clark fyvie king Stanton all to come in, squad depth will be key and that looks good

Pat, if we won 5-0 i dont think you'd be convinced.

We were poor in spells but i disagree the scoreline flattered us.
We created a good few other chances (Rabbitsch shot saved, Barton's shot saved,Safranko heading wide unmarked, Loemba shooting weakly when 1 on 1, Curran making a hash of one from close range).

Probably true. I've turned into a grumpy auld kant.
But the midfield?

What aspects?
I liked the rabbit today 😳

Fyvie or Stanton imo would make a huge difference with Barton

Thought Barton and Rabitsch did fine. First 30 mins of the second half were a bit dull, but even then, we never really looked under pressure, never once did I feel we’d let its slip. Pretty chuffed with them today I must admit.
Get a creative midfielder in, get the deadwood away (Keatings, McMullan, Scobbie) and we’re good to go, I reckon.

Good to see us finishing strongly despite ITKs telling us the training is shite
Still far from perfect though
Loemba 1minute Man U the next Lochee U.
.
Glass half full rather than half empty for me today which is a big improvement.
If games were own on possession we'd have been gubbed - bit they're not and chances wise we were worth the win.
Lots to work on in midfield and going forward (wee shout out for Aird though who put in a great shift and was generally good).
Pleased to see some work having been done on set pieces (last time we scored from two anyone?)
Good defence against an admittedly powder puff attack - maybe people will give Murdoch a wee break after today? and having personally a bit sniffy about Watson when he signed I thought he was excellent today even without the goals.

Rakovan - 7. Very safe handling throughout but lost a star for his 92-minute flap costing us a shutout. He'll be sick about that. As was Watson.
Murdoch - 7. I quite like the way this boy goes about his business. No frills. No fancies. Wardrop must fight for the jersey.
Watson - 8. A 6 plus two stars for two goals. He & Frans might just provide a solid CH partnership.
Frans - 7. Good defensive headers & now we got ourselves a long throw too!
Robson - 7. I like Jamie, he's a bit of a boo-boy but he's turning into a decent left back. Could get forward more but we were leading very early so defended resolutely.
Barton & Rabitsch - both 7s. Good skirmishers in the engine room. Not world beaters but decent cover for Fyvie & Stanton.
Aird - 8. 7 for giving us width & good deliveries plus add 1 for peach of a run for Curran's goal.
Loemba - 7. Sometimes a 9, sometimes a 5. So average 7. Jury's out but could yet become a fans' favourite.
Curran - 7. Defends well for a #9. Was as much in our half as in theirs but still managed a goal. Nuisance value.
Safranco - 8. Looks like we might have landed a striker. A lot of unaccompanied work, good touches, decent in the air, good signals.

I think that's fair, maybe when we get fyvie and maybe Stanton back though itll look better. I just dont like having two holding players.

This is massive for me, especially the long throw, basically a corner Rory delap! Delivery’s are better, airds dilevery for the first goal was unbelievable!

Happy with the win and the danger from set pieces. Aird at the 3rd goal too. Partick had loads if the ball but little or no end product.

Chuft with that the day. Have to admit better than I expected. It wasnt a brilliant game, but it was the best effort I've seen in months. 3 excellent goals we scored today. Free-kick in from Aird for Watson to head-in. 2nd again from Watson header from corner, and the 3rd was a bit of grit and determination from Aird again, and cool finish by Curran.
First 10 mins of play we were excellent, then the game kinda settled a bit. 2nd half was a bit scrappy I felt, but that's mibbee down all the Thistle players going down on their erse. Thistle up'd it a wee bit efter Erskine came on, but were never a match for us.
Lots of wild passes which cost us possession a few times. one of them from Rabbit who made a poor pass over to the left, leading to Loemba getting a Yellow card, when he shoulda turned left and tried to get thru the ball to Curran or Pavol who were in front of him at the edge of the box.
Bartons very good in the air, but I'm not so convinced by his skill on the ground.
Loemba show some great skill, but sometimes doesna seem to know what to do with the ball. That was an impression I got of some of the players today. Mibbee just nerves.
Softy goal to give away, following Booth's and Robson's faux-pas in stopping the cross going in. Anybody ken which of our players it was that ran across the keeper helping the ball into the net?
Better - Yes, but still think we've a bit to go.

Midfield: I thought that area was dreadful, Barton is clearly a skilled footballer but he looks like he couldn't give a fuck, Rabitsch looks the opposite, exemplified by his closing down on the Thistle defence in the second half when the rest of the team were slowly going backwards when we'd lost the ball.
There's a great player in there if we joined the two together. Neither looks like they can build anything, but at the same time they could have had three goals between them, considering the chances they had. To be fair, Barton made one of his using his skill, but he's too languid to finish it.
But, thinking of the other posts here, I might be misguided.

First & last 20 minutes were one way traffic.
In between, although Thistle saw a lot of the ball, they rarely threatened. Mainly half chances. There is work to do and 2/3 players to come in to that 11.
I’ll take the positives & who knows, we might be top in a week.
