I've got an old relation who gives me a Tunnock's Tea Cake every time I make a weekly visit, probably because I said, once many years ago, that I enjoyed them. On occasion, the Tea Cake has become chewy because she's had boxes of them in a cupboard, out of date.
But they 'never used to have Best Before' on them, and it never harmed her.......
And of course, Tunnock's as a company have faced controversy for taking the 'British' rather than'Scottish angle, you'll appreciate that RRDH!

I have to admit I canna resist their Caramel Logs.. Usually eat at least 2 a day. Being on a holiday recently, and I hadna had ane for aboot a fortnight, I ended up paying 6 Euros for a packet of 5 in Reykjavik. Missus says it's only aboot a quid for a packet here. Daft or what.

Needs must mate. I'll drop a fortune at the little british shop we have over here and half the time the stuff is past its sell by date.
