His middle name is 'Gaby', so he might just be here as a translator for Csaba.

This looks like a bigger gamble than the Paul Watson signing, he has hardly played any games for 12months.
Watson was trusted by Houston , a manager who knows the league.
Strange that there has been less of an explosion of anger about this signing

IIRC (and speaking personally) "underwhelmed" was the most common response to Paul Watson - not really an explosion of anger....more a whimper of dispair

Have we even seen him play?? His playing times suggests not......That's a worry.

Yannick Loemba
Dundee United are close to sealing their 12th summer signing by adding attacker Yannick Loemba to their squad.
Talks with the 28-year-old, who can operate on the wing or as a striker, are understood to be at an advanced stage and he is expected to put pen to paper inside the next 24 hours.
The 28-year-old left Turkish second division outfit Adana Demirspor at the beginning of the year, but prior to moving there in 2017 had played all his football in Belgium.
He was born in the Congo, but holds a Belgian passport having moved there as a child.
His senior career kicked off with RWS Bruxelles and he was also with Mons, Oostende and Leuven before heading to Turkey.

Yannick Loemba: didn't play much last season, only 116 league minutes, but four cup appearances too. Wonder who managed to scout this lad, and when they saw him? My guess is he was spotted on a computer screen.
Edit: I'm not writing him off, just puzzled as to how we might have come up with this player.
We could have had him on trial* as he's not currently attached
*no I don't think so either...

Even this cunts highlight on YouTube don’t look good hahaha
Online!
Anier looked good on Youtube. Bilate looked good on Youtube. Hell, Darko Bodul looked immense in his Youtube showreel.
Not gonna even bother watching this guys (no offence Mr Phobia).
Be another 2 year deal handed out to a boy who hasn't been scouted (couldn't have been).
God help the new man who has to eventually make a decent fist out of the team Csaba/Luggy built.

And " you've been over to St Andrews, what do you think of the facilities?"
also "You've signed a two year deal, can you tell us how that came about?"
"Well I met Csaba, and think he's trying to find
or maybe he's just clutching at straws"

Don't want to be prophet of doom but the twitter comment from his own fans (Austria Vienna second string) is translated as:
"Wow, make money with Vastic. Is Christmas today?"
Andis Shala #2?

He's from the same agency as Christoph Rabitsch. That might indicate something about the extent of our scouting.
The second part of the translation was worth leaving there.................
TRANSLATION:
"Toni Vastic could switch to Dundee United in the coming days. The 25-year-old flies to Scotland on Wednesday to check medicine and to clarify the last details.
Goalgetter Alexander Frank is suffering from a pubic bone injury and falls longer."
So that's the way to 'fall longer'. Always wondered, these weights never worked for me.

Shala would actually improve us. That's how bad things have got.

Not sure how they think they'll make money.
He's reportedly only on trial and surely he will be a free transfer? Is he even still attached to Austria Vienna?

Dundee United announce the signing of Congolese winger Yannick Loemba on a two-year deal.
The 28-year-old who can play on both flanks becomes United's twelfth summer signing ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Yannick most recently played for Adana Demirspor in Turkey but has played the majority of his career in Belguim where he holds a passport. His previous clubs there include KV Oostende, OH Leuven, RAEC Mons and White Star Bruxelles. Loemba has one Congo under-23 appearance on his CV also.
Manager Csaba Laszlo said, "Yannick can offer something different to the players already here. He has fantastic pace and loves to run at defences. He is strong on both feet, and I believe he will excite our fans."
Yannick said, "I am happy to be with Dundee United, I am excited to play in Scotland and want to bring joy to our fans."

Going by the two year old video could be a crowd pleaser and we certainly need a bit of variety out wide so here's hoping he's a success

All the best to the lad. Let's hope he provides some excitement. Is he our first congolese player?
